About Me
CURRENT MISSION
My mission is to find the truth in the places I visit! I want to meet locals or "ex-pats" to tell me where to go, what to see and what to eat! I'm very low-key and love a good adventure.
ABOUT ME
I realized I was an adventurous person after I stopped being a vegetarian and started eating foods from around the world. This may sound like 2 things that have nothing in common but I would disagree. I have now travelled to 13 countries on my mission to eat and experience what the locals do! I have a very positive outlook on life and I try to balance optimism with realism. My scales always tip more towards optimism, though. I'm new to CS but while I lived in Korea I met a South African who had done it and fell in love with the whole concept and have been looking to do it ever since!
PHILOSOPHY
Just be nice to people! Keep an open mind, and a full stomach (when possible!).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I love to respond to group postings and helping people who want to know about New York/Long Island things.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My first experience surfing was very nice. Although my host and I didn't spend a lot of time together, I spent time with some of the other travelers in his house and we had a blast together! Also, I met a great guy to go brewery hopping with off of CS in the same trip.
Interests
FOOD! I love singing and although I wouldn't say I'm ready for a solo career, I do love a good karaoke night! I also love a crazy night out but I'd prefer a dive bar to a club any day!
Although I am definitely a night owl, I really enjoy relaxing in a park on a sunny day with a good book and maybe my hookah!

Music, Movies, and Books
My music varies but what I've been listening to lately is Etta James, Patsy Kline Neil Diamond, Otis Redding, Janis Joplin, Rilo Kiley, Grace Potter, Florence and the Machine, Arcade Fire, Vampire Weekend...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One thing that I wish I could relive over and over again was watching the sun rise over Angkor Wat in Siem Reap, Cambodia. My friend and I stayed out all night and then took a tuk tuk to the temples at 4:30am. It was incredible!
Teach, Learn, Share
Hmm, I'm able to speak, read and write Korean on a very basic level. Being thrown into a rural Korean town, I had to learn enough to be able to get around. So I'm fluent in restaurant speech and drunken bar language. I would be happy to teach someone a korean drinking song that I know by heart!
