About Me

I am a friendly outgoing person. I love to meet new people. I love to learn about other cultures, and religions. The world has so much to offer and I want nothing more than to take full advantage of my resources. With that being said, if anyone is down for a fun adventure whether it is in the Ohio area or someone where else in the world please count me in. Lets learn from one another.

Traveling is a passion of mine. I grew up in a Portuguese household in Ohio, and although I have never been able to speak the language fluently, I can understand it fluently. I can also speak a good amount of Spanish.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Travel is never boring nor dull. Its a learning experience. Traveling interested me at a young age. My family was really different compared others where I grew up. My household spoke in two different languages. We were a lot closer than most families I knew. I was able to travel to Portugal at the age of 10, and learn about the Portuguese culture. It interested me and made me want to travel more and experience other places as well.

Some other countries I have traveled to are, Portugal, Mexico (4 times), Dominican Republic (2 times), Sint Maarten, Bahamas, Puerto Rico, Canada, and most recently traveled all over Costa Rica

(I know that Puerto Rico is considered part of the United States, but you sure doesn't feel like you're in the US while exploring!)

Interests

Some of my favorite things to do are, cycling, working out, hiking, photography, attending concerts, attending festivals, yoga, cooking, astrology, and reading.
I am progressing in Ukulele and I am currently learning guitar again.

I love to challenge myself and I absolutely love to learn. Meeting new people has always been something I've enjoyed. I live for thrill and adventure. Talking and listening is one of my hobbies.

Music, Movies, and Books

There are many genres of music that I love to listen to depending on my mood. I love just about every type of music genre but new age country (although some old country is nice, like Patsy Kline, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton,..)

If I had to choose my number one genre I would most likely pick oldies. There is something nostalgic and beautiful that older music brings that I cant explain. Some of the best are Sam Cooke, Dion and The Playboys, Frank Sinatra, The Fleetwoods, Bob Dylan, The Miracles, Donovan, Etta James, Elvis Presley, Simon and Garfunkel. The Temptations, Sonny and Cher, Mamas and The Papas, and so on. The list goes on and on. A newer artist that I love is Lana Del Ray.

Reading is one of my favorite hobbies. One book that sticks out like a sore thumb is " The Glass Castle." It's an autobiography by Jeannette Walls. Jeannette Walls is a famous reporter in New York City. The overall story is about how she grew up in a crazy, poor, dysfunctional family and how she was able to overcome her childhood family drama and move to New York City, attend college, and become a famous reporter. The story is beautifully written and I promise you that you will NOT want to put the book down.

Like I previously mentioned in my interests above, I love poetry. Two of the main poets that I love are, Rumi, and Robert Frost. Both are beautiful and both intrigue me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I graduated from college and received my bachelors degree. I currently work at a teen homeless shelter. I also started my own photography business on the side and do videography as well. I am very happy with both of these accomplishments.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am progressing in Ukulele and I am picking up guitar again.

I have heard that teaching is the best way to learn.
Lets write a song together.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share some of my favorite poems, songs, books, and so on. We can cook with one another and experience a mutual happiness, we can go on a walk, talk about travel, maybe hike, a stroll through the city, talk over morning coffee, brunch, or even dinner. We can share a bike ride, a sunset, and an unforgettable learning experience.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bahamas, Canada, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Sint Maarten (Dutch part), United States
