About Me

!READ MY PROFILE INFO BEFORE MESSAGING OR REQUESTING TO STAY!
(I've been getting a lot of request from people who are visiting other countries than Denmark, so please make sure you're messaging the right person)

I'm in my first year of med school at SDU in Odense.
I'm quite fond of learning new things of all kinds and always on the lookout for new adventures! You could probably call me a creative spirit, and I'll rarely leave my house without at least a sketchpad and a pencil. I love reading everything from old classics to new YA literature and poetry. Sometimes I'll even try to write some stuff myself, that with mixed results ;) I'm currently working on a bigger project and looking forward to meeting interesting people and seeing interesting places, that'll hopefully inspire my writing just a bit.

I also love attending concerts, especially if the music is heavily influenced by rock and has some electronic vibes. Other favourite activities include long bike rides, hikes, going to art museums, cooking and learning new languages. I've done 2 years of German, 3 years of French and a year of Spanish. The rest I'm pursuing on my own time and of course, I try to get in as much practice as possible while I'm travelling.

Since I live with my boyfriend, I'll quickly introduce him as well: He is 25 years old, studies to be a data technician, is excellent at playing the piano and plays Magic(the Gathering). We're both quite nerdy and love to play boardgames.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My interrail was what made me make an account, but I've started hosting as well after getting home. I have always loved the idea of travelling, though my family has never quite had the budget for it. When I was 15 I got to go to Oxford for 3 weeks to practice my English, and while I was there I stayed with a lovely family. This showed me how much more you get to actually experience wherever you are staying when you don't just stay in a hotel. Of course the cost is a major pro, especially for students like myself, but it's so much more than that!

Music, Movies, and Books

As stated earlier, I mostly listen to rock, but I also love electro, pop and indie vibes. Some of my favourite artists include but are not limited too: PVRIS, Cœur de pirate, Creeper, BØRNS, Vukovi, Storm The Sky and Love, Robot(I'm still not over the fact that the band doesn't exist anymore)

Movies: Fight Club(right back, I just need to watch it again 10 times, because my mind is still a mess from the first time), Nobody Walks, and many more. I love the TV-series Good Trouble as well as many others.

My favourite (English-language) writer is probably Virginia Woolf, but The Travelling Cat Chronicles by Hiro Arikawa left me in a puddle of my own tears. I read as much as possible, both because I simply enjoy it but also to become a better writer myself. When it comes to Danish literature, nothing beats the Danish 80's punk-poet Michael Strunge. He taught me to love my own language, even though I had always seen it as ugly and clumsy. And German poets May Ayim and Else Lasker-Schüler do some damn good work as well. Thanks to them I no longer hate the German language(same problem as with my mother-tongue) and learning it is a bit more painless and rewarding.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Not giving up. On school, art, writing. On myself. Someday this will probably be replaced by something else, something more specific. But for now, I'm quite proud that I've kept going, in so many different ways and that I keep challenging myself. Turns out it leads to a significant amount of happiness and laughter ;)

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: English, Danish, Math, inline skating, knitting, crocheting. My boyfriend can help you with playing the piano and improving your skill in LoL, mtg and Hearthstone

Learn: I'm always looking to become even more fluent in English, and learn more German, French, Spanish, Japanese and Italian. Tips on drawing and creative writing are also welcome. Yoga.

Share: Good music, great literature, delicious food.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A good mood, fun stories and hopefully a meal or two. I love to cook, and it's even more fun to do so together - maybe we can even teach each other some new recipes!
