About Me

Enthousiastic, interested, always looking for new experiences and new people to meet.

I love to be outside, walk in the mountains or through the woods. But I also spend quite some time finding out which is the best pub in town ;)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Started surfing and meeting people through CS in winter 2012-2013, and I love it! For me, couchsurfing is not just about having a place to sleep. I see it as an opportunity to meet new people, to see a country through the eyes of someone else and to share (travelling) experiences. And I hope to surf with & host people that like to do the same ;)

Interests

Sports :) Especially sports that you can do outside/in nature, like road cycling, climbing&bouldering, swimming, hiking, ice skating, snowboarding, and cross country skiing.

Listening to music and sharing music with people. Going to concerts and festivals, and dance!

I love hanging around in nice pubs that feel a bit like living rooms. Just to drink a beer/wine & talk with friends or to take my studybooks there in the afternoon (because it is way more fun to study in the pub than at home or in the library).

Of course I'm interested in philosophy as well as cultural studies and sociology, but I also have an interest in mathematics, physics and almost any other topic that people can talk about in a passionate way. And I very much enjoy conversations that show me how other people view the world and their role in it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the last things that really amazed me was hiking on Jotunheimen (national park in Norway, known for the beautiful mountains) - I really love being in the mountains and this hike that we did was simply perfect (sun, snow and beautiful views).

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: I can teach (or at least tell you about) philosophy, some basic climbing/bouldering & swimming skills, and Dutch. And if you've never played board-/cardgames such as Settlers of Catan, Carcassone, or Munchkin, I can definitely give you an introduction ;)

Learn: I'm interested in people's passions. What is important to you and why? (it can be sports, academic topics, food, whatever.. as long as you're enthousiastic about it)
And there are so many different things that I want to learn, like surfing, playing go & dancing tango.

Share: I love sharing (travel) experiences, music and good food :)
