Overview
About Me
I am a life enthusiast, living and working in Western North Carolina with my favorite adventure buddy and our goofy dog, Penny. Together, we have spent time exploring our homestate of California, the Southwest, and the Southeast. We bought a van in 2017 and have been slowly converting it to a camper, while also working and squeezing in plenty of adventuring along the way. I try to prioritize the things that matter most to me in life: Earth and Love.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm an explorer on a budget, and I love to see places through the eyes of the people who live there.
I've loved hosting couchsurfers when I've had a place. Right now is tricky since I have been moving around so much, but I hope to have another couch for travelers to surf on soon! And in the meantime, I'll be the one surfing.
Interests
I'm super passionate about getting people connected to their natural surroundings! I love leading nature workshops for kids and families. I also enjoy hiking, exploring, cooking, reading, spending time with friends, seeing live music, and learning.

Music, Movies, and Books
Favorite music:
Music, generally speaking, is my favorite. And even the stuff that isn't my favorite is pretty tolerable. My absolute favorite music to see live is the California Honeydrops and Gary Clark Jr., but I've also been keeping tabs on Kurt Vile, Susan Tedeschi, Sylvan Esso, Rhye, North Mississippi Allstars, Future Islands, Devon Gilfillian, Khruangabin, and so many more...
I love to find my favorite local band everywhere I live. In Los Angeles it's Nocona, in Placerville it's Island of Black and White, and out in Asheville it's Travers Brothership and Window Cat.
Books:
Some of my go-to favorites are Jack London, John Steinbeck, Michael Pollan, and JK Rowling (of course!). Lately I've read and really loved:
~Ishmael
~The Red Tent
~The Omnivore's Dillemna
~La Lacuna
Movies:
Anything good... ideally with some strong female leads (is that so hard to ask for, Hollywood?)
I'm also really into stand-up!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I managed to work three jobs when I was 18 and save up for a solo two month trip to Asia while solely supporting myself (and living in my car/camping/couchsurfing at friends'). Not to congratulate myself too much, but I am quite proud of that work ethic and determination-- especially when I grew so much and learned so much about myself in the process. The same "Work hard, play hard" mantra got me through school and will hopefully get me to buying property in Northern California someday.
Teach, Learn, Share
In person.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Good conversation and a homecooked meal (I love cooking for people!).
