Overview
About Me
My name is Nadim, I am 21-years-old and live in Leicester in England; where I was born. My mother is Caucasian and was born in England, my father originates from Gujarat in India, however he was born in Zambia. I am mixed-raced and graduated with a first-honurs degree in BA Business and Management in July 2015.
Upon graduating I embarked on a 5-month journey of travelling - I traveled to the United States, Germany, Italy, France, Spain, Switzerland, Tanzania and Kenya. I spent 10 weeks in Kenya teaching English as a volunteer in a slum area in Nairobi. I currently work part-time at Waitrose whilst I am in the process of acquiring a graduate position - I am also currently an intern for 6 weeks as part of a research initiative for my university.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have returned from travelling and now am in the process of acquiring a graduate job - however this requires travelling across the country to attend assessment centres and interviews, therefore I am here to appeal to peoples kindness and generosity to put me up for a night where I may have an assessment centre. Hotels can be very costly, especially for a graduate who has just come back from travelling.

Music, Movies, and Books
Genre means nothing to me - the artist and their subject matter means everything, I listen to many different music artists - from Michael Jackson, to Bob Marley, to Take That.
My favourite books include The Autobiography of Malcolm X, 1984 by George Orwell, Freedom Next Time by John Pilger and many more.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I embarked on a 3-month journey to volunteer as a teacher in a slum area of Nairobi, Kenya – where my presence as a volunteer was beneficial in opening the minds and broadening the horizons of students, along with exposing them to a native English speaker. As a teacher I was placed in a community school and taught classes in Math, English, Science, Social Studies (Geography and History) and Physical Education. I also created a fundraising campaign to build a classroom in the school I was placed at - this campaign was successful and the classroom was built, which I am really proud of.
Countries I’ve Visited
Denmark, France, Germany, India, Italy, Kenya, Portugal, South Africa, Spain, Tanzania, United States
