I am a PhD student at Boston University (first year) I am working on forest biomass estimation using satellite techniques. I have a Master degree in Geo Information science and a minor in Forestry and environment.
But more than that I am a positive person that loves eating, laughing, sharing, dancing and a lot more. I am curious about the world, I do painting (watercolor) and photography.
I grew up in the Tuscan hills in Italy where I spent most of the time walking around with my dog. i love spending time by myself as much as spending with friends (life is all about balance!)
I love traveling but I am not a crazy traveler, I like to take the time to see things and not rush.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet different kind of people, travel to see new places (at a reasonable price) and to share ideas.
I love Couchsurfing because it's a way to see new places with the help of people already living in there, and avoiding touristic places and have a more real experience of the place

Music, Movies, and Books

I love quite all kind of music, I've changed many type of music in my life, each period have his own soundtracks. I love reggae, but also ethnic like deep forest, electric swing, classic music etc. and recently I listen to a lot of soft jazz (maybe I am getting old!)
favorite book are about anthropology especially "Guns germs and Steal" from Diamond, "The Omnivore dilemma" from Pollan, I love poetry but only when not too depressing
Among movies I love Amélie (I love the soundtrack also!), Miyazaki cartoons (Totoro is my favorite)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One day I met a guy and I completely fell in love with him (him too luckily!) and I decided to follow my heart and change my life. It was the best decision ever!
