About Me

Dear Future Friend, reading this summary!

"I'm adventurous, keen on traveling and exploring new horizons. I believe that through meeting other people and cultures we get to know our own way. My most impressive trips were to Himalayas and Tanzania. But I remember and appreciate any country I visited any opportunity to enjoy our planet from the sea, or the sky.
I promise to cook the best Ukrainian food for my hosts and share exciting life stories :)"

That was my first description when I joined CS in 2015. Now I'll add:
"I'm a working mom of 3 y.o. amazing son, Lev. Since he was born we didn't travel much (which also coincided with COVID travel restriction) enjoying family and work life in Ukraine.
But events from February 24, 2022 made us travel much more than we could ever imagine. We fled from Kyiv the same day when the first missiles dropped on my city with a small bag of winter clothes. Since then we traveled through the whole of Ukraine -> to Poland -> South Africa. Where we temporarily grounded for a few months. I've been one of the luckiest women, who could travel with the husband out of Ukraine (cause he is a South African resident).

As much as this country can offer, I don't feel safe staying here and raising a child. So we've made a decision to move to Portugal. With not much behind our back during all these months, we can offer our best energy (we still are positive and cheerful :)), and help with something around the house (my husband used to work with construction and carpentry).

We'll be happy to meet you.

Best,
Nadiya

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've been on Couchsurfing because for most of my life I've been an avid traveler, looking forward to new experiences, and exchanging visions and thoughts with people from different cultures.

Now I'm a family person, having hospitality in my blood and my South African husband's culture. As soon as we are settled, I'll be open to hosting travelers from different spots of the world.
