About Me

22 y/o half german half portuguese girl raised in a tiny village in the north of Germany. I worked next to school a lot as a waitress in a cafe, bartender on festivals and team leader in a movie theater. I always loved jobs where you are in contact with people.

I graduated from school and made a voluntary year in a school for kids with special needs. One of the best decisions I've ever made. I learned a lot about myself through helping, supporting and giving to people who give back to you with the purest kind of love you'll ever receive. Guess I found my passion there.

I left 2015 to San Francisco to make a year abroad as an Aupair in the most amazing and loving family. Another great decisions I made. There I took care of two young dudes, one of them on the Autism spectrum. I explored that family can be everywhere and everyone. Met tons of people from all over the world and made friends for a lifetime. I travelled like crazy all over the states, visited all big citys, many nationalparks (not all of them, gotta go back and do the rest :P) and even got to see Mexico twice and parts of the carribean. I had more fun than I ever expected.

I‘m trying to make my passion to my profession so I started studying special needs education and couldn‘t be happier.

I didn‘t travel that much around Europe yet, at least not as much as I want to. Can't wait to see more parts of the world and it's beauty. I love getting to know new places, new people and new cultures.

To me: I'm a fun, loyal, silly, sometimes a little crazy (in a good way) but honest and friendly young women who is very open minded and adventures. I guess .. haha.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

First of all meeting new people is always a lot of fun. Also it's way nicer to travel and have the chance to get to know the culture, this I feel like you can't get if you're in a Hotel room or an Airbnb. I want to be in it for the full experience! I am planning to travel around Europe a little and couchsurfing could be very useful for that.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I kind of listen to everything, from 60's to today's music. Favorite music I'd say is music that makes me happy and feel good :) If you're curious just check my Spotify (Nadja Altvogt).

Movies: Same here, I like pretty much everything except from Horror movies. I love laughing so of course I’m a big fan of Comedies. I mean I love flat jokes, they always make me laugh, it happens that I'm the only one, haha. My favorite Comedy movie is White Chicks. A good Thriller is always great too (Gothika, Shutter Island, Gone Girl). Nothing tops Harry Potter tho, best movies ever.

Books: I think the only books I ever read were the Twilight books and the After books, classics I know, very deep stuff. Trying to read Harry Potter for years now and am stuck at the third book. Even though I'm a fan and I love the storys, don't know what's wrong with me. Should really read more, but somehow ...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Working in a school for kids with special needs.
Being an Aupair in San Francisco.
Travelling on my own.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well, I don't have that much to offer except from teaching some German basics and good company I guess. Always happy to talk about life storys, experiences and travel adventures. I‘m not too bad at cooking, so maybe you get lucky. I know a lot about the Autism spectrum. I love talking about it and give everybody the chance to understand people on the spectrum better and see how amazing and fascinating they are.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Fun times, good talks, flat jokes, how good a beer mixed with coca cola is, how loud a girl can burp, how to sing a whole song without knowing the lyrics
