About Me

I'm usually to be found in a cafe, someone's living room or with my face in the sun :) and occasionally the bouldering hall! I like things and places with stories, and spending time with people to hear their stories.

When I'm in a city, I roam around trying to find markets, parks and cozy cafes/bars. I like being surrounded by people, sharing some nice wine and cooking together, and interesting conversations, but am also very excited to spend lots of time in nature while travelling now - hiking, camping and when somewhere in winter - snowboarding!

For the last 3 years (before starting my current travels) I was living in Groningen, Netherlands. There I studied philosophy, psychology and artificial intelligence, and had a very active student life. I lived in a nice car free city center, and lived in a student house with 13 others! We were a mixed bunch and had great times together.

A few things I like might best describe what I'm like:
- lying down in the grass in summer, looking up at the trees from below
- campfires
- reading/writing/doodling/drawing
- looking out the window from the train
- cooking with a glass of wine and groovy music
- finding that perfect spot to pitch a tent

Lastly, I have a favourite hat. It's my parrot bucket hat - see pictures :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Getting to know others, especially people that I would never meet otherwise. It lets you have really interesting conversations, new perspectives, and friendships all over the world. This is also one of the best ways to create more understanding and kindness between different groups, people and opinions :)

  • hiking
  • camping

Music, Movies, and Books

indie, house and happy beats. I really enjoy festivals.

favourite movies are historical fiction (on the basis of sex), those with interesting plots and that are thought-provoking (good will hunting).

In terms of books, I like those that give me new perspectives (like Sapiens), Fahrenheit 451 or those that are written in an interesting way (almost anything by Dave Eggers).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Renting motorbikes in rural Laos with a friend and driving around, exploring villages and waterfalls!
Splitboarding with my boyfriend in northern Lapland.
