About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Make new friends, experience new cultures, explore more and share with the world! ヽ(*´∀`)ノ

ABOUT ME

Hi! I'm Nadz. A Muslim gal, happy-go-lucky, bespectacled and fairly tall for a Malaysian. Can't beat them Europeans tho. Next to them, I'm tiny. *laughs*

A home tutor and food safety consultant.
A mild Nerd/Otaku .
A socially awkward turtle and a friendly-hippie business lady.
Currently building up my own business along with the mission to explore the world.
Live my life to the fullest, and be the best me I can be. *grins*

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is THE BEST SOCIETY EVER.
I've spent some of my Euro-Winter-Themepark-Tripping 2018 staying with awesome CS Hosts who themselves are very giving and inspiring. This trip would never be as good if I've not have the opportunity to meet and share with CS Hosts. Biggest appreciation to them and CS.

I believe with all my heart CS is an opportunity to make new friends and share lots at new frontiers. Coz if traveling with family or friends, will tend to not mingle with the locals. Going to Japan on my own 2016 and staying with an interactive host family really opened my eyes to what I missed out on staying at hotel / hostels: there's minimal to zero chance to learn more about the people and their cultures. It was an eye-opener. With Couchsurfing, it is all about mutual understanding and trust.

Note: sadly how much I wanna give back, I can't host coz parents won't budge on their 'no non-family guests' policy, except with their strict approval (girls only, special invitation to those who hosted me especially).
Ideas on how to induct them to couchsurfing?

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE (kinda)

2016 & 2018- Ikebukuro, Tokyo, JAPAN (AirBnB): Chie-san and her family had gone above & beyond just; they truly cared for and shared so much with their visitors. Big plus was every couple of days they'll invite you for a meal with them. Loved their dinners! One time the dinner was her family, myself and another visitor from Taiwan who didn't speak a lick of English nor Japanese. We literally talked through Google Translate for 3 hours!
Their hospitality reminds me of the spirit of Couchsurfing.

2018- Geneva. Sunny was my first CS host ever and she was the best 1st CS host you'd ever dream of (considering she's busy with her exams while hosting me). Her hosting spirit has given me the trust I put in CS until today. Thank you Sunny!

2017- Paris. Romanka was a much bigger Disneyland enthusiast than I was. It was fun meeting Lily in her princess dresses every time I come back. Aww.

2018- Europe Winter Them Park Tripping: Whoaa. 4 hosts and counting. Frank, Sabrina+Tobias, Heike and Lisa all have made my trip an even bigger experience than I've ever Imagined.

Interests

Japan: anime + manga.
Halal Sharing: Halal is everywhere, we just need to be informed and open-minded. Literally ate my way through Tokyo with my faith & my trusted Google Translate.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

2018- BALI CS Meetups for four days almost 20 of us CSers meet up and stayed at one place and generally spend a great three-day together! 2018- Europe Winter Them Park Tripping. Can't catch them all, but I'm gonna four of them in three weeks. WOOHO!

Teach, Learn, Share

Hosting (meet ups):
KL, local foods, and a personal driver (me) *laughs*

While Surfing,
- prioritize spending time with hosts when asked.
- help you cook if you'll have me.
- Malaysian local prepacked foods and cook simple veggie dishes for dinner.
- my sleeping bag.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My first host, Chie-san from Japan (AirBnB):
"She was the most active and independent Malay girl that i have ever met. The days with her was great. I came to know many touristic points in Tokyo that I didn't know before. She brought back something new daily. She is also very considerate and kind to my sons and to the other guest. Whoever meet her will love her and will be happy sharing with her. I really love her. Thank you Nadzirah for everything and for all the gifts. I will eat the food one by one remembering you so please come back again before finishing them all."
