One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2009, I made a significant decision to leave my job for nine months to support my uncle during his battle with cancer. It was a challenging time, but my family needed me, and I chose to prioritize them over my career. After nine months, I returned to my office, only to find that my service had been terminated. I was now jobless and searching for new opportunities, but the economic recession made the job market incredibly tough.

Despite the challenging circumstances, I decided to attend a walk-in interview for a position in a field where I had no prior experience. When I arrived, the recruiters informed everyone that they were only considering candidates with a minimum of five years of relevant experience. As a result, many people left after submitting their resumes.

However, I chose to stay. I sat quietly at the back and began mingling with the few remaining candidates, gathering as much information as I could about the company's roles and responsibilities. I quickly pieced together a rough understanding of the job requirements. Armed with this newfound knowledge, I submitted a resume that highlighted my abilities, albeit with some creative embellishments.

To my surprise, I was successful in the interview and secured the job, even when many more genuine experience candidates can't secure job, had been turned away.

This experience changed my life, teaching me
