Hey guys, my name is Naiim (nie-eem)! I'm very adventurous and like to live life to the fullest!I'm often found singing to myself, slightly out of tune, getting sucked into a Wikipedia hole, or hanging out with my friends.

I'm currently still in college, I attend the University of Delaware. I'm studying linguistics, cognitive science, and computer science for my undergraduate degrees and neuroanatomy and neurophysiology for my combined graduate degree.

I've lived in Pittsburgh, L.A., Wilmington (city in Delaware), Cleveland, and Philadelphia, but the farthest outside of the states I've been was a cruise to the Bahamas. I think it's definitely time for me to get out and explore the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing provides a more deeper and intimate experience into the local culture of wherever you're staying. At a hostel, you get to meet many different people from around the world who all share the same love of travel and wanderlust, but you don't get the authenticity that comes with staying with a local or someone who has lived in the area for some time.

On my travels, I want to really get to know the place that I'm in, the people, the culture, the real stuff. I'm on Couchsurfing because I feel like I can get that here!

Interests

Language, linguistics, and philology, basically anything to do with languages, learning them, teaching them, using them, is a serious passion of mine.

I love anything music! I play the piano, violin, and guitar, but piano is definitely my favorite. Whenever I see one, I can't help but going over to play for a bit. I'm really into jazz and blues, but have also done classical, cocktail, and contemporary.

Engineering has always been one of my career aspirations ever since I was a knee-highling. I've done software engineering, biological engineering, biomedical engineering... Building something from nothing or making something better or more efficient is such a rewarding experience in my eyes.

Music, Movies, and Books

I honestly love all kinds of music, maybe not rap or metal, but too many exceptions exist to tell for sure! My favorites are jazz, country, indie, and pop, not necessarily in that order.

I love anything fantasy. My favorite book, well books, are the those that have anything to do with people going on an adventure in order to discover the powers within or learn how to use them. I'm a nerd and I embrace the title!!

In terms of film, the Harry Potter franchise wins hands down. Pretty much anything with fantasy or adventure and it'll have a spot in my heart!
