About Me
Vivere per raccontarlo e raccontarlo per vivere.
I wake up every morning, wherever I am in the world, and I sit in front of my computer or a piece of paper, and I start working. That has been the only constant in my life, together with my love for telling stories.
I grew up in Italy on Caravaggio and punk rock, and thought contemporary art was a swindle until I was seventeen. That’s when I started writing for art magazines and realized that art is just a three letter word, beneath which there are people.
Through my writing, comic books and even my fashion blog, I try to bridge east and west, north and south. My aim is to create meaningful connections.
I also love summer, walking, reading, Italian neorealism movies, strumming on my guitar, hot tea, and tofu.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
On one hand there is the frenzy of not staying still. Kinda of "Sal, we gotta go and never stop going 'till we get there.''Where we going, man?''I don't know but we gotta go.'
And then, one day in Melbourne I met a guy who told me: "I want to go everywhere and meet everyone". I find that is a good proposition to start with. Nature and architecture can be sublime, but I was never interested in landscapes as much as I am interested in people. And when I meet new people in a foreign landscape, that's when a good story starts. Tell people's and places stories is what I'm all about. I can be pretty talkative, but most of all I like to listen.

Music, Movies, and Books
My name is from a jazz song but I'd rather be called Anarchy in the Uk. As punk as you can be in your teens in Sorrento, Italy, I then fell into the wider rock arena. And - shame on me - nowadays I'm into hair metal from the '80s. But of course, I also enjoy a good Fabrizio De André, Lucio Battisti, Rino Gaetano, and all those Italian cantautori. And my Neapolitan roots, when it comes to traditional music.
Movies. I never say no to a good action movie, or to films from Italian neorealism to the Commedia all'Italiana and French Nouvelle Vague.
Books follow my interests, which are pretty high-brow low-brow, from Camus to Lester Bangs. And biographies. People's lives are unique.
