About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To feel thrillingly free by going on an unplanned travel adventure. I want to get out of my comfort zone, meet exciting new people and just have fun!
ABOUT ME
I grew up in Cape Town, although I was born in Germany since my mother is German. I have always been an adventurous person, not feeling comfortable and at ease with a planned and structured routine. When I was done with my school degree I set out for Europe and did a three month Eurotrip with a friend of mine, whilst being based in Berlin for one year. Thereafter I decided to study Sociology and Psychology at the University of Cape Town and was extremely lucky to receive a scholarship to study at Columbia University in New York for one semester.
The best and most beautiful place I have been to until this day was Nicaragua, where I went to after my stay in New York. Now I feel like it is time for another adventure again. I want to look back at my life one day and be amazed by the many beautiful things and people I have seen and met. I am a peoples person - by that I mean that I become happy and receive energy by being around people I enjoy being in company with. I don't merely want to travel as a tourist, I want to experience what it is like to live in a place, to breathe the culture and understand the people.
I love to cook, eat, drink wine, listen to good music, do yoga, socialise with inspiring and optimistic people and simply enjoy the riches of life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have couchsurfed quite a lot with my friend Kristin, throughout my Eurotrip in 2011. During the three month Eurotrip and another month of travelling through Italy, I met a lot of couchsurfers and hosts and it was a truly memorable experience. Meeting and living with people who live in a country allows one to get to know the place more as an insider than as a tourist, which I definitely prefer.
I like the principle of couch surfing, making travelling accessible not only for people who have a lot of money. It brings out the humane and kindness of people. I am looking forward to hosting people myself once I have my own apartment :)!
Interests
Of course I have a passion for travelling, for being in an unfamiliar environment - one sees so much more when one is mesmerised.
I love to cook, watch fascinating documentaries, take photographs with my fathers old film camera and I have a passion for eating delicious and different foods.

Music, Movies, and Books
I just recently watched the documentary Blue Gold, which I find incredible. I love the movie Baraka and Samsara.
I enjoy very different types of music including acid jazz, gipsy jazz, trip hop, reggae, hip hop etc.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Travel through Nicaragua with my boyfriend - stay on an island made up of two volcanoes within a gigantic dam in Nicaragua. Words can't really describe the feeling of being in this spectacular place.
