About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Discover our planet anew! Then go and discover some more.

ABOUT ME

Intrepid voyager by day and professional astronomer by night. Unreasonably happy, outrageously imaginative and downright modest. In other words - just Kuba. Apparently a good storyteller and a rather eccentric traveller. Want to know why? Ask - and I shall provide you with hours of seemingly never-ending stories of my previous journeys. ;)

PHILOSOPHY

Nice and simple - optimism. Adhering to the common belief of almost all Poles - that "it will (always) work out somehow" :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE

I loooooooove CS! Met some of my best friends ever through CS. Visited best locations in the world thanks to my hosts! (Thank you)^2 CS!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been both hosting surfers (not from CS project though) and surfing a lot myself. In my experience - it's the very best way to meet and make friends with some of the most interesting individuals out there in the world.

Interests

It'd have been much easier to list what am I not interested in... :D Astronomy is both my muse and main occupation. I am currently working in a team of scientists that try to discover and characterise new planets outside of the solar system (i.e. "exoplanets"). Astro-stuff helps a lot with the second love of my life, sailing, or more specifically, navigating on yachts. GPS is boring... ;)

Music, Movies, and Books

Easier to ask again what do I not like. When it comes to listening - anything with interesting lyrics should do. Local folk music is sometimes cool too. Dance-wise - remixes of 80's and 90's party anthems work miracles!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sailing through a 10 Beaufort scale storm on Adriatic sea, while at helm? Or maybe - discovering a new planet in WASP-54 system? Hey - possibly hitchiking from Budapest to Poland or... travelling the same route by bicycle? That's a tough one! Possibly - the greatest thing in my life is yet to come :)

Teach, Learn, Share

What can I teach? Astronomy. Nothing like an hour of looking up in the sky, while learning from a wise astronomer about mysteries that hide up there, in our plain sight. What could I share? My passion for discovery, be it scientific or not. What could I learn? Local customs, singing in new languages, pottery... this list could be 15.6 pages long. Anything really that's a little bit weird and not-so-useful in our present day lives.

Countries I’ve Visited
