ABOUT ME

I am what some people call "restless". I think that travelling is like a virus: once you're infected you always carry it within you. It's that kind of wanderlust, which has taken me around the world, but has not stopped my appetite for foreign places. Quite the contrary. :-)

For me, Travelling essentially is the combination of meeting new and interesting people, getting to know their language, culture, way of life.. what else could make happier?

I have never hosted, since I have been traveling on & off ever since I signed up. I never surfed either, but most of the friends I made when living in Peru, was through CS. I organized weekly meetings there together with a local.

I prefer exploring new places with locals instead of with a map in my hands. I love seeing a city through a local's eyes, hearing what it is they like about their home, the place they grew up in. It creates a different connection to a place, a more personal, more tangible feeling than being a "regular tourist".

Travelled cuba as a blonde-19-year-old-non-spanish-speaking-girl...everything went well, what an experience!
Lived and volunteered in Hawaii for a few months, fell in love with the islands!
Discovered my interest for asian culture/religions/lifestyles/people/food/landscapes on trips to Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, India
Developed an affinity for Latin American music and lifestyle while having travelled Ecuador, Peru, Argentina & Colombia before settling down in Peru for a year.
