About Me
CURRENT MISSION
to help everyone know how beautiful they really are, and to help them see that beauty in others.
ABOUT ME
a truly daunting field. sheesh. when i was very little, maybe six or eight, i looked at things like bottled water and thought "thats stupid. water fallls from the sky. why would anyone do that?" no one has ever been able to convince me otherwise. i have a strong instinctive conviction that everyone should do what they want, not just what theyve been taught to want, but what really truly makes them happy, and then we would all be ok. i beleive that food should be free, that western medicine knows less than it thinks it knows, that men can and should cry, that emotions are more important than logical thought, that hugs are better than almost anything, and that life is beautiful, even when it hurts. or maybe especially when it hurts. I talk to strangers, even if they seem a little reluctant. i try really hard to remember that if someone is rude to me its probably not because theyre a rude person, they were probably just having a bad day. sometimes i fail. I love children for two reasons (or two categories of infinite reasons) one because they express the purest form of human emotion. children start their lives with only the knowledge of what they need, and what makes them happy. they have pure hearts and crystal clear minds and they know how to appreciate and feel every moment of life. from them i learn to be in the moment, to feel what i feel and need what i need, and that is a great gift. secondly, i love children because it is the sacred and solemn duty of everyone who is not themselves a child to provide infinite and unconditional love to all children. too many children in this world are starved for love and affection from those closest to them. too many parents deny their children their fundamental need for unconditional love and affection in a vain attempt to make them strong, obedient, patient, polite, or whatever they think its their job to teach them. children need to be taught that they are beautiful being exactly who they are, and that they will be loved regardless of their performance. i need to be taught this as well. i learned it extremely well from my wonderful parents, but i never stop learning it and imperialist white supremacist capitalist patriarchy spends a lot of time and money trying to tell me otherwise. i beleive that practicality is a tiny box in an infinite and miraculous universe. i beleive that anything is possible. i do not beleive in monogamy. i recognize anyones right to make that promise to someone else if they so choose, but to me it makes no sense and i cant live my life that way. my long term goal in life is to acquire as many committed, loving, open life partners as a i can and to live together or seperately in a network of ever changing and renewing love, affection, and support. i could keep writing in this box forever. but i wont.
PHILOSOPHY
love is more important than anything else. love is a difficult skill, a practice, a yoga, a way of life. love is my religion. language can be a powerful tool for love or a powerful tool for the repression and devaluing of love. in modern american society, it has been used mostly for the latter. it is vital that we reclaim and express that language of love, that we dedicate our lives to loving and caring for one another. in a few years, it will become clear to a much wider audience that the global industrial capitalist patriarchy cannot sustain itself, and that if we want to survive we are going to have to learn to provide for our own needs and the needs of those we care about. this is the essence of love. every human being needs food, water, and physical and emotional safety and well being. emotional safety and well being are not less important than food or water. in fact, these needs are inseperable. the only way we can provide for these needs sustainably is to provide them for each other on the local scale, to work in harmony with the earth and with each other and to dedicate our lives to the happiness and health of every single being on the planet, including ourselves. nobody can be left behind if we are to be saved. the mass murderer, the capitalist crony, the oppressive tyrant, the beggar in the slums, the starving child, the welfare mother, the lost souls, the boring and the bored, the affluent and the self sufficient, all need to be loved equally and to learn to love each other. that is the path to peace.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
im very new here, but i love the project, and i really want to open my home to people, and to be invited into the homes of others.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
my favorite couch that i ever crashed on belonged to a group of three wonderful women who i met at the Kate Wolf music festival. after sharing a great weekend of music and playing together in the river, we decided we needed to remain freinds. i have since spent a couple of nights on their fold out futon in their San Francisco apartment, and every time i enter their space i feel so welcomed and so blessed to have met such good friends at such an unexpected time.

Music, Movies, and Books
Gibran's the Prophet ("your children are not your children, they are the children of life's longing for itself." put that in your pipe and smoke it, over-protective under-appreciative parents!)
this list is long, but i dont think its the most important thing on the page, so im not going to type it all out.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
in junior year of high school i traveled to Perquin El Salvador with Dr. Patch Adams and a group of about twenty clowns, ten flight attendants, and ten volunteer construction workers. we went to villages and clowned, entertained people, brought love, smiles and bubbles. we handed out rice and beans and other material aid (an extremely painful process). right across the border in Bolivia, we built a health clinic to provide medical services to the surrounding villages. one night, we needed to build a large concrete wall all the way around the clinic. we erected forms, and mixed concrete in two small portable mixers. from the mixers to the wall we set up a bucket chain, and poured the concrete in bucket by bucket. at first our chain had about ten people, but as we made our way around the wall, the chain grew longer and longer. many hours later, we had enlisted all the clowns, flight attendants, and construction workers, as well as many of the surrounding villagers. for hours, fifty to sixty people swung those buckets to get that wall built, and they had a really good time doing it. everybody was sweaty, dirty, and tired, but everybody was happy and singing.
Teach, Learn, Share
i would love to teach a wide variety of circus skills. i would love to share my knowledge about working with children, how to get them to respond, how to make them feel good about themselves. I really want to learn to play music, to grow food, to build sustainable systems for urban living, and to paint, draw, and sculpt. and dance, i want to learn new kinds of dance. i also want to learn to talk about sex, how to help my partners feel comfortable talking about sex, how to communicate openly and honestly about sex, how to figure out how i really feel about sex.
