About Me

TRAVELLING FROM THE 13TH OF SEPTEMBER UNTIL THE 3RD OF OCTOBER

CURRENT MISSION

To enjoy EVERYTHING I do - everyday life and work as well as travelling and holidays. Maybe try to live in another country.

ABOUT ME

I am 25 years, from Denmark and I live in Copenhagen. I think it is always interesting to host people and being disturbed in the usual rutines. I live with my very nice and fun roomie, Carina. If i'm not around, she can help you, show you around or entertain you if you please.
I'm open-minded and not very easy to shock, I'm not very high-maintenance, so I think you will find me easy to have around.
Self-describtions are always a thing i dread, and I hope you will find that this one leaves out a few things.

PHILOSOPHY

No matter what situation you're in, it could (probably) always have been worse.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have met the most wonderful people on couchsurfing - it's really unbelievable.

Dmitry picked me up in Helsinki airport late at night. I spend the night on his couch, we had cereal for breakfast and 5 hours later I was in an inflatable raft on a river, alongside 1000 finnish people "beerfloating". Then 6 hours later I had a large group of friends in that city that would go to extremes to help me.

Diana hosted me and a friend in Skt. Petersburg and shared the news of her first pregnancy with us, at the very same time as telling her boyfriend.

Jameel toured around Aleppo with us for days - teaching us about the unique architecture of the mosques in the city, about the world's first alphabeth, meanwhile sharing his wonderful friends and family with us.

Lisa in China introduced me to durian....

Tessina in Belgium made me feel that I was a part of her family when missing my own.

Maxime and Caroline took my friend and I around all over Paris on scooters, laughing and screaming at the same time. And then they always had their fridge stocked up with homemade chocolate mousse. Homemade.

Job in Amsterdam never even showed up. And yet he turned out to be a wonderful host - leaving the door open and everything, neighbours saying it was alright. Other people showed up too, and it was lovely. We listened to Jobs wonderful album collection and played with all hos juggling toys. We stayed there for a week, and it felt like home.

At Maelles house we were just supposed to stay for a day or two. Then we stayed six. All cramped together - and it was hilarious.

Benoït in Rouen was such a strange guy. But that turned out great. I have no words to describe him. When my friend and I entered his house (his amazing rural stone house) there was this other guy, Mark, in the garden, mowing the lawn. Apparently this guy was sort of on a mission - walking around the world, contributing along his way. We called him the walker. And then there were two other guys staying there. They were from Uruguay and they cooked the most amazing 'chicken in Coca Cola' I have ever had. We didn't share a language but we laughed our asses off. Meanwhile, Benoït made crepes flambée for dessert. He was related to Jeanne d'arc. The real one. I left my flashlight LEGO-man as a present for him, because he liked it. I'm sure I would have left anything for him.

I met Farishia on a train in Mongolia, then we said goodbye and a month later I met her again in China. A few weeks ago she stayed on my couch in Copenhagen - we hadn't seen each other in 7 years, but it was like meeting an old friend.

Interests

During the summer I spend a lot of time kayaking around the harbour of Copenhagen and swimming in the harbour. Right now I spend most of my spare time doing volunteer work in a student organisation promoting social innovation and social entrepreneurship. I wish I had more time to spend in nature, hiking or just camping.

Music, Movies, and Books

From the top of my mind, East of Eden is my favorite book. I like horror books too though, I am part of a bookclub where the theme is disgusting books. Sounds obscure, but it is quite fun actually.
My favorite music is my boyfriend playing the piano. Lana Del Rey has been on my playlist for years, Stan Getz, NERD. I like all kinds of music.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I will share all kinds of things. But I'm an excellent cook!
