About Me

Hello everyone,

My name is Nana. I am from Germany, I grew up in a small city near Regensburg, but I am currently living in Berlin. I am very interested in learning new languages, especially through means of media, especially movies. I am deeply interested in movie cultures from all corners of the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to explore more of the world while simultaneously meeting new people, who can help me expand my horizon.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't limit myself to specific genres of media, but I do have some artists and authors I enjoy a lot.
I am a huge fan of Kim Kiduk, Lee Changong, Bong Joonho and Park Chanwook from Korea, but also love directors like Hirokazu Koreeda, Takashi Miike and Naomi Kawase from Japan. But of course I also enjoy movies from any other country.
My favorite author is Haruki Murakami. I always feel strangely close related to the protagonists in his books.

Regarding music I always enjoyed blues and rock music, but recently I found a special taste for early techno and disco music

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In my first week in Korea, where I went for an Exchange Semester, I wanted to go to the countryside by myself to learn about meditating in a monastery. Upon arriving in the city near the monastery, I figured I lost my phone, my whole source of being able to communicate with the local Korean people. It was a crazy week, I spent time working for a few days spontaneously at a peach farm, after a nice family offered me accommodation and food, while I was still not able to communicate with the people there almost at all. I never made that many incredibly experiences and funny encounters before. More to that, once we meet.

What I Can Share with Hosts
