About Me

Howdy guys, my name is Nancy and I hail from the lovely city of Sofia in Bulgaria but am happily doing my thing in Adelaide, Australia :)
I'm currently doing my masters in social work, loving every minute of it, and also working part time at a shoe store. I live with my mum, who is pretty much a full blown hippy and is super welcoming and lovely. We have a wonderful fluffball that is our cat, Cookie, and a tiny pudgy excitable dog that is Abby.
Recently I was overseas where I got to meet some incredible, unforgettable people and experience some of the best times of my life. The few months I spent abroad have created a new longing for excitement, adventure and experiencing as much of the world as possible, which I am hoping to continue to do soon enough.
I consider myself a very friendly and open person and I do tend to get very excited when hearing about people's awesome experiences and stories from all over the world :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I got introduced to the glory of couchsurfing by some friends who couchsurfed at home for a few weeks through travels in Australia. It seems like a wonderful way to meet people from all over the world, experience different cultures and get to help out people who need a place to crash and a friendly face in a strange city.

Interests

I love being outside in any capacity, so I love hiking, walking, getting lost in forests and the glorious Adelaide hills, so if you like any type of outdoorsie adventures we will probably get along great.
I also tend to enjoy a good night out with some drinks, good company and a boogie.
I love watching anime and watching good comedy shows and get pretty enthusiastic at the idea of anything superhero related.

Music, Movies, and Books

My music taste is pretty varied, I listen to pretty much a little of everything but have a special affinity towards punk rock and hard rock.

I like to read philosophy and social theory books for fun on occasion, so I will probably try and discuss the latest thing I'm completely blown away with.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most memorable things that I have done for myself was hiking up to the top of mount Sarangkot in Pokhara (Nepal) for New years eve last year.
After hiking up these winding roads, getting passed by oncoming traffic and curious motorcyclists questioning why there were these crazy kids in the middle of the road, myself and some wonderful volunteers I met in Nepal reached the peak of the mountain where the view was spectacular. The glimmering sunshine reflected on the snow topped mountains which enveloped the entirety of the region, as well as looking down and being able to see the beautiful shimmering lake that twinkled in the distance with all the paragliders like tiny specks of dust above it was one of the most breathtaking experiences of my life. Being able to see how tiny all the little houses and small towns in the Pokhara region were in comparison to the grandeur of the mountain ranges was just mind blowing.
Getting to share the last sunset on top of a mountain, with some wonderful people was probably one of the best experiences I have had to date.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My philosophy is that you get out of life what you put in. Depending on what you're looking at doing in Adelaide I will attempt to accomodate as much as possible, within reason. I also value my alone time very much so that's something that I will want on occasion, depending on what the situation is.
I have some pretty sweet nature spots, as well as my favourite pub that I share with anyone that sets foot in Adelaide :)
I love meeting new people and sharing adventures and I hope to share with you guys my enthusiasm and excitement in general.
