About Me

CURRENT MISSION

This is my sabbatical year for travel and renewal.

ABOUT ME

We've hosted several exchange students at our home in Texas - from Germany, Austria, Russia, Spain. Both of my children have been exchange students, and my son is currently in Egypt. My husband and I have both been college professors, but now I am in private practice while he still teaches. This year, my husband is teaching in Romania and I am on sabbatical - enjoying getting to know Romania, and travel very much.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm 56 years old, life is short, and there's a lot of places on that list that I need to visit! So now that my children are grown, I'm stepping it up. I don't like just seeing a place, I like getting to know the people, the language, the culture.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I just got started (thanks to my daughter!) and we had a great first experience. I'm excited to participate more.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couchsurfed for the first time this Christmas in Esslingen, Germany. Our host was a wonderful guide around the medieval Christmas Market and a gracious host. He inspired me to get involved!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have to pick one?

I stayed in an Ebo longhouse on the island of Borneo where they still had shrunken heads hanging from the roofbeams. Granted this was over 30 years ago...

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to cook Mexican food. U.S. university/college admissions. English.

Would like to learn cooking from whatever country I'm visiting. Want to (re)learn Italian.
