About Me
Been traveling back and forth from the US to China my whole life, so I'm pretty lucky to have seen so much to say the least. I started CS when my friends were hosting travelers in New Orleans, where I lived for a couple years for school. From there, I moved to Madrid for half a year and began my real CS traveling. I met my best friends while surfing in Valencia and basically backpacked 6+ cities in Spain, London, Brussels, Amsterdam, and 5+ cities in Ecuador from there on out. I love anything from hiking/beaches/nature to fine arts to history museums to nightlife the list never ends! I firmly believe that everything in life is fascinating and wonderful so you can find me in the most bizarre places to the hole-in-the-wall shops in the back alley of a dingy street lol
The best part of meeting people is definitely the wide range of conversations we can have. From philosophy, to soccer, to food, to ancient history, to biology and nature, to economics I love the spectrum of topics available and the different perspectives we all can have on a single subject.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Everyone's number one reason: to travel and make friends the unconventional way! Nothing is more genuine in knowing a new place than being able to meet/talk/stay with locals, I want to know your favorite music venue or your go-to drunk food, etc. and naturally I love showing out-of-towners my city and favorite spots :)
Learning new languages and culture from different regions of the world is one of the biggest factors of traveling for me. As a kid I knew 6+ languages (Cantonese, Cambodian, Vietnamese, Mandarin, Spanish, and Shanghainese, a native language from northern China) and would love to rebuild those language skills along with learning pop culture in foreign countries to seeing how everyday life is approached outside of the US.
Interests
Watching soccer, food, traveling, meeting new people, museums, any outdoor activities like running/hiking/camping
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Nothing outstanding I can think of exactly, but I see being able to do anything new is something amazing. From going to my first Mardi Gras to watching sunrises from a rooftop in China, it's all pretty amazing to me to have opportunities to do things like that. Although I've got to say moving abroad for the first time on my own to study in Madrid is definitely one of the more gutsy things I've done that jumpstarted this for me
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm full of ridiculous little talents from catching grapes in your mouth to juggling a soccer ball to climbing trees. Always willing to learn more to add to my basket of interesting talents and always willing to teach and share.
