About Me

Hello there! I´m Nantke, I´m 21 years old and currently on a gap year. I´m from the Danish minority in northern Germany, but I lived in Cádiz for a year when I was 17 and have now finally come back to see more of Spain! I play the cello and am learning to play the bass, and I love making music together with others! I´m an open-minded person and keen on making many new experiences. I also really enjoy drawing, reading, playing volleyball, and learning about other cultures and languages!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I´ve been living in a pueblo of Valencia for the last month as part of my gap year, and now I want to travel Spain for a while before returning home! I´ve used couchsurfing before with friends and we´ve just had the best experience! It is such an amazing way to meet both locals and other people from many different countries and it offers a much more insightful way of travelling :D

Music, Movies, and Books

Up for anything! Some of my most recent music discoveries include The Dead South, Camille Bertault and a Ukrainian quartet called DhakaBrakha, but at the moment I also listen to a lot of Spanish rock and indie music.

My favourite authors are Walter Moers and Madeline Miller. My favourite films are Goodbye Lenin and Sing Street, as for series, Avatar: The Last Airbender will always have a very special place in my heart :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent the months from August-December last year at the International People´s College in Helsingør, Denmark, as part of my gap year. I lived there together with around a hundred other people from more than 25 different countries and attended classes such as Intercultural Communication, Band, Sustainable Gardening and African Drum and Dance. But the best part was definitely meeting the people from so many interesting and dfferent backgrounds and forming such close bonds with them! I´d love to tell you more about it if you have questions about this school!

Teach, Learn, Share

I´m very happy to help with practicing languages, for example if you´re trying to learn German or Danish! I´d also love to practice my Spanish, as I´ll be moving to Copenhagen in August to study Spanish and Latinamerican Language and Culture.
If there´s interest, I´d love to share with you my experiences of growing up in the Danish-German border region, and of course learn about your own culture!

Countries I’ve Visited
