Becoming a good graphic designer & artist

ABOUT ME

I was born and raised in China and came to US for college. I'm very grateful for my opportunity, because most people in China couldn't afford study abroad while they're very smart and hard-working. I just switched my major to graphic design and political economy from finance since this semester. I'm glad that I finally had the courage to fight for my dream rather than just leaving it as dream. This change also teaches me about putting my heart into something that might not even work out as I expected. I love visual arts as it makes your voice heard through images.  Graphic design is constantly changing and shaping our cuture in an subtle way. Political economy attracts me to understand what an ideal world would be like and how to achieve it. If there's no way we can make that ideal model, I'll just appreciate things around me like walking in an art gallery. 

PHILOSOPHY

I'm pretty open-minded, that means others' religions and habits hardly bother me. But it's not easy for me to believe something new righ away.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My CS experiences started in the summer of 2011 when I moved out of school and met a new roommate Steve. This magical man opened the door of CS to me and since then I met some of the most amazing people in my life.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been hosting 5-6 people with my roommate and went to a few CS parties in the last summer. I CS once in Texas. Since school started and I live in dorm, I didn't get a chance to CS.
