About Me

Ciao! Hi there! I am a college student from Chicago currently studying abroad in Rome, Italy and I plan to travel within Italy as well as throughout Europe the next few months.

A bit about me: I'm studying Social Work with minors in Italian and Psychology. I have been taking Italian for about six years now, and while I'm not necessarily fluent, I'm definitely able to get by with what I know. I am very passionate about various social justice issues and I love engaging in discussions around such topics. Further, I'm always interested to learn about related issues in the countries I travel to, and I feel the CS can give me the opportunity to do just that.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To interact with the places I travel to on a more intimate and personal level! I want to discover sights off the beaten path, places that most tourist don't know about. Further, I love meeting new people and it would be amazing to make some friends in the places that I travel to!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: too hard to create a list, I'm pretty eclectic! I'll listen to almost anything except for new country and death metal, basically!

Movies: Cinema Paradiso, Starbuck, Sorry to Bother You, Ciao Professore, La Meglio Gioventu, Hidden Figures, Once, Mamma Mia, Away We Go, Moonlight....

Books: Again, too many to list! I love both nonfiction & fiction, but lately I've been reading a lot of nonfiction books about social issues, so I could use more recommendations for novels!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have climbed to the top of both the dome of St Paul's cathedral in London as well as the duomo of the Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore in Firenze. I would totally do both climbs again, and I hope to climb more duomo/domes during my study abroad experience!

Teach, Learn, Share

I am totally open to helping others improve/expand their English and/or Italian knowledge. In terms of learning, I would love to learn any bits of your local language, as well as customs and, of course, food!!

Countries I’ve Visited

England, France, Greece, Italy, Scotland, Spain, Vatican City State

Countries I’ve Lived In

Italy, United States
