About Me

Hi! My name is Naomi. I grew up in Boulder, Colorado USA. I am a student at Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania USA studying civil and environmental engineering and international studies.

I lived with a host family in Paraguarí, Paraguay; Winneba. Ghana; Ocana, Colombia and Alajeula, Costa Rica.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm a broke college student who loves to get to know other cultures. To me, one of the great parts about traveling is getting to know the locals, the best way to do that is to live with the locals. I'm also always willing to share parts of my culture with the people I am with.

Interests

I grew up in the mountains and for that love exploring nature. In the United States, I work as a gymnastics coach and am on my school's rowing team. I love most things active and outdoors.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy almost all times of music. Honestly, in all of this category I'm not too picky. I do like comedy and non-fiction I guess more than drama and fantasy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was living in Ghana, I was volunteering with an organization that helped rescue children from slavery. While I wasn't on the rescue missions, I was helping in the rehabilitation center as well as at the school. So more of the organization was amazing, but I couldn't think of anything else.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach some English, US/ Jewish traditions, gymnastics.

I´d love to learn how to cook a traditional meal, some of a local language (if applicable), Spanish, and local customs/traditions.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I would offer to cook, but unless you want something boiled or microwaved I'm kinda out. I can offer company, friendliness, help around the house and a meal out.
Mainly what I can share is friendliness. I love kids and have been working with them for 5 years now, so if you have kids, I'd be happy to help out with them.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Greece, Mexico, Morocco, Panama, Paraguay, Spain, Turkey, Uruguay

Countries I’ve Lived In
