I have spent a lot of my life studying but now I'm working as a translator and proofreader. There are lots of things I would like to do in my life, but my most bizarre ambition is to drive a massive American truck across the Nevada desert.

I'm living in Nottingham now, as London got too expensive for me and I found a great job here!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I spent 3 weeks in Aug/Sept 2010 couchsurfing around Switzerland and France, and it was a very interesting experience, and definitely something I will do again!

Interests

Languages, yoga, salsa dancing, travelling (obviously!), climbing, kickboxing, art galleries, museums, vegan food (cake), trance nights

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourite film is Benny and Joon, an obscure romantic comedy with Johnny Depp that no one has ever heard of!
Books: Harry Potter, The Dark Materials, young German authors, children's literature
Music: classical, Irish/Celtic, RnB, cheesy Europop dance, trance and more

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Watching the 4th of July fireworks across the whole of Manhattan from the roof of our Brooklyn apartment has to be up there.
Seeing the Jungfraujoch now also has to go on this list...

Teach, Learn, Share

I've studied French and German for 4 years, so I'm always looking for someone to speak those languages to. Anyone who speaks Spanish, Italian or Dutch is welcome to try out their language on me too, even though I might not understand very much! I'm also learning some Norwegian - I know about 6 words so far... I speak shamefully little Irish, but it's always good to use a few words of it now and again. My native language is English, so of course I can always help people with that too.
