About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Cycle across the world on a bicycle named Leroy
ABOUT ME
As my mission statement says, I'm currently on a journey by bicycle. However unlike my typical bike trips, usually down to the local dairy (shop) to grab the paper and a pack of tim tams, my current journey will see me pedal my way from Australia to Scotland. I began in Adelaide in March 2010 and have so far made it to Iran...
PHILOSOPHY
If we could all just appreciate our own insignificance in this unfathomably immense universe we'd all get along better and lead happier, less stressful lives. It would also be quite good if people would stop: killing each other, making bad music, buying stupid things, littering, cutting down trees, believing lies spread by idiotic politicians, listening to the media, breeding incessantly.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have hosted previously, but it was through my mate Jah Vincenzo's account. Likewise I have been a guest with several wonderful CS hosts, but Jah Vincenzo (who was also cycling with me at that time) jacked all that up.
Vincenzo has now parted ways with me for a while, so I have decided to set my own account up...
At the moment I'm traveling so I can't host, but I very much look forward to doing so in the future when I return to New Zealand.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've found Couch Surfing to be wicked - stayed with some amazing hosts in Australia and swapped travel stories, music, books and recipes... A perfect way to meet, stay with or host like-minded souls on the road.
Interests
Drinking tea and coffee, eating fine cuisine, wetting my whistle with a tasty ale, making dub music on my MacBook, listening to inspiring music, viewing unusual films, reading thought-provoking literature and - being a New Zealander and all - I'm also quite fond of the barbaric sport of Rugby Union.
I guess I should say I enjoy riding bicycles and immersing myself in the great outdoors too... Seeing as that's my chosen vocation at the moment.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I LOVE REGGAE, basically I could list all manner of Jamaican artists from the heady post-independence days of Ska in the early 60s to the more hard-edged, militant sound of dancehall roots in the early 80s, but I'll spare you the details. But let's say: Augustus Pablo, Burning Spear, Wailing Souls, Admiral Bailey and King Tubby.
I also like a lot a wide variety of electronic music, country and hip hop. I have no time for cheesy top 40 club house rubbish.
Books: 1984, Lost Horizon, Dharma Bums, Ethiopia on a Mule, The Hobbit, Blue Highways and I also must admit to enjoying Steig Larson's Millennium Trilogy.
Films: Pulp Fiction, One Night on Earth, Coffee and Cigarettes, This is England, Rockers, Once Were Warriors, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Clerks, The Big Lebowski, No Country for Old Men, The Maltese Falcon, Citizen Kane, The Gods Must be Crazy. Oh and I almost forgot High School Musical 2.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I was recently cycling through rural Thailand and I was saw a dog fornicating with a cat.
Teach, Learn, Share
I know quite a bit about music, I can cook pretty well too - I specialise in Mexican and Indian cuisine.
