CURRENT MISSION
To find the silver lining and stick to it.
ABOUT ME
I study maths at the University of Aberdeen, having moved here from Sweden in 2006. I have a very random array of hobbies and am generally impatient with where I am and what I do, and I tend to get crazy ideas telling me things like, "Move to Scotland." "Learn Gaelic." "Travel mainland Europe alone for a month." They usually turn out rather well. The latest crazy idea was "Move to France and do your maths there for a while." Having just finished that project, I've concluded that life is simply too boring without crazy ideas. I highly recommend following those ideas if/when you get them. :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've slept on people's couches and had others sleeping on mine, although not through the CouchSurfing project.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres
I will watch, read or listen to most things, as long as there is at least a hint of quality to it. Favourites include "The Illusionist", "Moulin Rouge" and anything where Tim Burton is involved; Depeche Mode, Lisa Ekdahl and Brainstorm (the Latvians); and as for books, fantasy/sci-fi and whodunnits are most appreciated. Also, Stephen Fry's "The Liar" must be mentioned.
Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue
Bought an InterRail 1-month pass and jumped on a train in Gothenburg, with a list of places I wanted to go/had promised I'd visit, and only vague ideas for how to get there. Sleep on noisy/smelly trains in Godknowswhere? Any time, if I can:
* Talk to random Italian exchange students
* Learn some German/Polish/Danish/...
* Play guitar with Polish travellers
* Hang out with folk musicians playing the key fiddle
* Have an English lady lecturing me about what a horror foreigners are - not knowing that *I'm* a foreigner.
(I did those things. Yay trains!)
