Sobre mí

Hello, I`m Vova from estonian borderlands.
My birthplace somehow predicted I would cross many borders in my life.
I was 13 or 14 years old when I started hitchhiking. At 16 I learnt Spanish and moved to Valencia for the following 2 years. That time I was hosting people pretty a lot, with CS or without. Last 2 years I moved from place to place, lived some calm couple life and unfortunately forgot to check my CS profile. This is why I have a shamefully low response rate. I`m really sorry for that.
Now, 2 years after, I`m back to my passion - travelling.
However, don`t think I haven`t been helping and hosting people in Tallinn where I live now. I`m a hostel worker, so making people enjoy their trip to Estonia is my work, and a work I really love.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

I started using CS when living in Valencia. It was a pleasure for me to help people. I was trying to find the best of the city and it was not always easy. So I wanted others to avoid it. Any place is so much easier when you have a local guide. Also being a guide is good, it usually helps you to see the place you are used to with "new eyes".

Intereses

Travelling and meeting people just like we all like, architecture, languages & history as well. Observing life itself could also be called my interest.

Algo increíble que he hecho

Last thing I did which comes to my mind was hitchhiking from Warsaw on Friday 13 Nov 2015.
That time was the worth hitchhiking experience I ever had.
Actually the story has a small introduction.
I bought cheap flights from Riga to Berlin. Always wanted to see this place.
The night before the flight my phone broke. Funny. But I took the decision to get to Berlin anyway. This is how I got to the f*** highway Warsaw-Poznan.
I stayed there from the sunrise to the sunset. I could not already raise my hand. I did not sleep, eat or drink. Cars were passing one by one, but never stop. I saw car lights all these 9h even closing the eyes like a nightmare. I was staying with a smile on my face. I refused giving up. I was close to start crying, but I saw a bus stop with many notes like "Lithuania - Spain. 2/5/11", "St Petersburg - Berlin Stas & Lena" etc. I was keeping on. Then the sun set, then the lights turned on, I was on the edge of the highway in darkness. That moment I sit in roadside mud and cried. In a minute I said to myself again "do it", woke up and a car to Poznan stopped. That has been a real faith check. But I did it.
