Overview
About Me
I'm originally from California, and my job brought me to Virginia in 2006. I'm single, but due to the Covid issue, I have not been as socially active since earlier this year. Things are beginning to pick back up though, and that's a relief. Like everybody else, I'm so looking forward to travelling and do so in a more normal fashion. No masks, no quarantines, no distancing, and so-on. I'm a social person and make friends relatively easy, and I can never have too many friends. Even though I love art, physical fitness was my first love and it has been my lifestyle since childhood. Health and fitness are high priorities for me, but friendships are also important and I work at establishing and developing them. I'm looking for experiences that turn into a lifetime of great memories. I own a home in a beautiful setting, next to a well established golf course, miles of walking trails, and very near a lake where there are many water related activities. There are many restaurants near me, and plenty of stores for shopping nearby too. It's a great community that I live in, and even better when it's fully open.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love to travel, see beautiful places, get to know the locals, learn customs/traditions/languages, view art (I'm an artist), and enjoy the many adventures available to me around the world. I'm glad a friend recommended this website because it opens up a new and exciting chapter in my life.
Interests
Motorcycles
Music, Movies, and Books
Favorite movie: Casablanca, with Bogart and Bergman. My taste in music is wide ranging from Andrea Bocelli and Gypsy Kings to Tupac Shakur and Post Malone. I also listen to classic Rock, Country, and Jazz. I love to sing, and have a Karaoke system that is always a hit when I throw parties.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The one that tops them all is I became a father. What can be a feat more amazing than creating life?
A distant second would be climbing Mt. Fuji in Japan.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Friendship that may become life-long, respect, my experiences that have helped me throughout life, food/drinks, enjoyment of many types of activities, reciprocating by hosting them, and more.
