Présentation
À propos de moi
CURRENT MISSION
"The masterplan was, there was no masterplan."
ABOUT ME
Positive, fun, curious, empathic, creative, chaotic.
Growing up in/between/with two different cultures definitely influenced me in many ways, I am open-minded, flexible and always eager to see other cultures and learn foreign languages. Love meeting interesting people from all over the world, listening to their stories, telling them mine and sharing experiences.
PHILOSOPHY
Expect nothing. Appreciate everything.
Success isn't how far you got. It's the distance you travelled from where you started.
Try not to regret things you cannot change anymore. Or like New Order said it: "Guilt is a useless emotion".
"Alors c’est ça être adulte, avoir un compteur qui affiche 210 et ne jamais dépasser le 60 ?"

Morceaux de musique, films et livres
Ok, this is going to be a bit long. So before you go on reading, you might go to the bathroom first, or get sth to drink from the kitchen.
My music taste varies from older stuff like the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Guns 'n Roses, Johnny Cash, etc. to newer bands (mostly indie) like Phoenix, Planet Funk, Bloc Party, Death Cab. Other bands: Oasis, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds (because I'm definitely team Noel!), Coldplay, Snow Patrol, Editors, The Killers, The Gift, ...
Generally, I am always open to try out new bands and artists, be it Russian pop, French rap, Persian house, or whatever. Lately I am into Spanish/Catalunian bands (El Canto del Loco, Nadadora, Antonia Font).
My favourite movies: The Edge of Heaven (Masterpiece by German/Turkish director Fatih Akin), The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (one of the biggest positive surprises! Great film, especially the soundtrack blew me away. But hey - it's José Gonzalez, what did I expect ... The guy is a genius), Inception, Pirates of the Caribbean (only the first part!), About a Boy (almost as good as the novel). Movies related to time travelling like The Butterfly Effect, or where the sequence of narration is non-chronological, like Memento.
Movies where you have several different stories, and somehow they are all connected, like Amores Perros or Babel (both by Alejandro Gonzales Inarritu) (btw the first movie I mentioned is also one of this kind).
French light comedies (especially if Guillaume Canet or Romain Duris are playing in it), like Hors de Prix, L'Arnacoeur, Ensemble c'est tout (even if not completely light all of the time), Les Petits Mouchoirs (same here), Jeux d'Enfants, L'Auberge Espagnole.
One of the best indie films: Once (with Frames-singer Glen Hansard). If you are into music and Dublin, you should definitely see this one!
Favourite books: from the classics, definitely Oscar Wilde (not only Dorian Gray, also his stories and plays) and Ernest Hemingway (The Sun Also Rises, The Old Man and the Sea). From the contemporary ones: Nick Hornby, I love his sense of humour, his style of writing, his way of treating heavy topics, everything. My absolute favourite so far is A Long Way Down.
Paolo Coelho: The Alchemist, The Devil and Miss Prym.
Dzhamilia by Tshingis Aitmatov (famous Kyrgyzian writer). First and only book that ever made me cry.
Bonjour Tristesse by Francoise Sagan. A very beautiful, subtle way of creating melancholy. I love that about her.
Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue
My year abroad (in Qingdao, China) was definitely an unforgettable experience. One of my dreams (living in a city by the sea) I can already cross from my list :)
Some of the highlights from that time are definitely my trips to the Great Wall, hiking the famous Yellow Mountains (Huang Shan) and visiting the Angkor Wat temple in Siem Reap (Cambodia).
