Overview
About Me
I’m Nasos, 23, from Greece and grew up in London, UK where I’m living at the moment.
I’m currently working on MetaLearn (http://metalearn.net/), a content platform that teaches people how to learn anything fast, whether it’s picking up a language, building a business or getting into a new sport. I also work part time as an academic tutor and university lecturer where I help students apply these techniques to their studies.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
For me the best thing about travelling is meeting new people and seeing new ways of looking at the world.
When I travel, I like to learn about the place I'm visiting from locals so I can have the most authentic experience possible. I also love showing other people around my city so that they can enjoy the same thing.
Interests
My interests are constantly growing and currently include writing, entrepreneurship, cognitive psychology, neuroscience, language learning, teaching (mainly economics, politics, philosophy, business, maths, and modern languages), ancient history (especially the history of Ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome), gymnastics, martial arts, football and tennis.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In 2014, after graduating from University I went on a 3 month solo trip around Brazil travelling to Rio, Sao Paulo, Belo Horizonte, Recife and many more places. I learned Portuguese with a Brazilian friend in London before the trip as well as reading about their culture and listening to Brazilian music, which made the experience very special!
There were so many awesome experiences during the trip – these included going to an outdoor house party in an abandoned mansion in a Rio favela, going for hikes up Sugar Loaf mountain with friends and taking capoeira and dance classes. I also went to 4 games at the 2014 World Cup, including my home country Greece v Costa Rica, England v Uruguay and the unforgettable Brazil-Germany Semi Final which finished 7-1 to Germany!
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: I can teach you how to learn anything! I've been researching the learning process for several years diving into the fields of neuroscience and cognitive psychology and have interviewed subject experts in everything from music and martial arts to business and languages to find out their best practices. Learning is a skill that's not taught to us in school and university and once you realise this, you can apply it to anything!
Learn: There are very few things I'm not interested in (see my interests above) so I'm willing to learn whatever you have to teach!
Share: A good meal (I can cook well!) and a great conversation
What I Can Share with Hosts
A good meal (I can cook well!) and a great conversation. If you're interested in learning anything new, I can also help you with that.
