About Me
Hey there!
My name is Nastya, I live in Moscow and work as a producer at an independent film company that promotes creative documentaries. I am deeply interested in exploring contemporary culture: arts, film, music.
Traveling is one of my greatest passions and I love to create stories behind my travel plans and make them into adventures: I once took a short trip to Vienna just to see a painting that was haunting me. For my 26th birthday I booked a ticket to Venice inspired by a documentary on Joseph Brodsky that was filmed in the city. This summer I went to Finland for a week and spent half of the trip alone in the woods and another half at the Flow Festival in Helsinki.
I also lived in Tel Aviv for a year and it was the most meaningful experience of my life. I lived in a big warm israeli family and I learnt so much about Jewish hospitality and culture. Now I consider Israel my second home even though I'm not Jewish.
This winter I'm traveling to Los Angeles and I'm really curious to see its less known side. I heard a lot about its emerging independent art and music scene and I'm looking forward to exploring it, hopefully in a company of a local who knows it well.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I tried couchsurfing for the first time less than a year ago but it totally changed the way I travel now. It made my trips abroad more meaningful than ever. I love urban life and it is extremely important for me to experience the city in a company of a local and also get to know them, their lifestyles and interests, what they live and breathe.
Interests
I love reading Russian classic literature and Scandinavian children's books (I actually consider Pippi Longstocking my role model). I study German and I'm determined to learn at least five languages. I work in documentary film industry and I made it my habit to explore every new interest of mine through documentaries.
