About Me

Hi! My name is Natalia, I’m a visual artist from Argentina. I love to travel and live new experiences, to meet new people and being able to make new friends around the world. I started to travel around Europe in late 2017; I lived in Germany, The Netherlands, Sweden and Hungary, and visited so many others. I studied to be a Visual Arts Professor with an orientation in Painting and Printed Arts in my home town in Argentina. After I got my degree in 2015, I worked as an art teacher in elementary and high school, and as Paint and Printed Arts professor at university. I also presented several exhibitions in different cities, but I felt that I wanted more than that. I didn’t want to settle down in a city with a stable job and salary, there was a whole world waiting for me to discover it. The main reason to emigrate from my country was to be able to make a living out of art and spread my work. So, I took my art supplies, pictures of my pieces, a lot of enthusiasm and I traveled to Germany with a Working Holiday Visa, and thanks to Workaway I had the best experience ever. That allowed me to show my work in that country, holding an art exhibition with the pieces I had painted in Argentina in a fabulous castle on the banks of Mosel river. That experience showed me that is possible to dream bigger. The following year I had to come back to my country to save some money to travel again, this time to a completely different destination and I traveled to one of the “Scandinavian giants”: Sweden. I took again my brushes, paints, canvases and I started my journey again. To see and visit new landscapes expanded my artistic language, adding what I saw to my sketches and paintings. Journeys change us in many different ways, we're improving ourselves all the time and is really challenging. Is not easy but I love it!
I am specialized in Oil Paint, I like surrealism and human figures too ; to represent emotions, feelings and situations in a painting; to make the viewer imagine a story. In this way the piece has a thousand of interpretations.

To travel is part of my life and I mix it with arts.. Perfect combination! If you feel curious and wanna see more about my work: @n.artalia (Instagram) Natalia Almuna - art (Facebook fan page)
