About Me

I am a neuroscientist and an eager traveller, and most of the time I combine these two. I believe that - despite certain variety of cultures - people are, after all, pretty much the same everywhere, this might be why I feel home wherever I go. My home is where my computer is;)
Recently I got my own place in Nijmegen, that's why I finally can invite people to stay with me. In the working week I don't have that much time to show you around, I will try though.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Music, Movies, and Books

depends on occasion. I would rather go to a rock concert in my quality time, things like Guano Apes, Rammstein or Iron Maiden, however deafening music full of beat is better for working in daily life. I don't consider myself an especially ambitious music consumer though.

Movies: anything that has suspense - Fight club, Memento, 12 angry people, Shawshank redemption, Green Mile, Requiem for a dream, The silence of the lambs, Seven, American Beauty etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I hiked Kilimanjaro in September 2013. It was supposed to be my honey moon but my fiance had run away before the wedding. So I hiked it by myself.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share some stories about today's science to those who like listening about it. I can dance, so I can also give you a lesson of salsa.

I have a blog where I just recently turned from Polish into English: nataliabielczyk.wikidot.com

You can get the idea of what kind of skills I have from there too. So, I think I have some management and trouble shooting skills in general. Three years ago I was living in some cheap hostel in San Diego, I was talking to the land lady every morning and after talking to me, she launched her own business online. So yep, I can magically make people do things.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I think I can share some wisdom and some drinks, is that a satisfactory answer?:) I am hard to outdrink though, so beware.

Apart from that, I like talking about what happiness means to different people, and how to acquire or grow it regardless of the circumstances. I heard hundreds of different answers to the same questions and it always amazes me from how many different angles one can looks at the same problem.
