ABOUT ME

En Enero del 2006 comenzamos un viaje increible con destino Alaska, EEUU. Comenzamos en la ciudad mas austral del mundo: Ushuaia,Tierra del Fuego Patagonia Argentina, conduciendo una Combi Volkswagen, con la cual recorrimos toda Sudamerica. En Venezuela nos separamos de ella por varios motivos. Despues desde Colombia, cruzamos el estrecho de Darien en velero hasta Panama. A partir de ahi viajamos a dedo, viajamos en buses,en bicicletas, en trenes y hasta en avion (por unica vez, esperando sea la ultima) hasta lograr nuestro objetivo al comienzo del invierno del 2012.
Al pensar en el regreso, decidimos volver a casa en bicicletas. La mejor manera de andar, despacio y cerca de la gente.
Somos personas curiosas, nos gusta cocinar y compartir y nos adaptamos rápidamente a cualquier situación. Christian es celiaco, por lo cual mantenemos una dieta libre de GLUTEN, es decir: No trigo, No avena, No cebada, NO centeno, ni cualquier derivado de ellos (cerveza, barras de cereal, panes, pastas) Gracias a esto aprendimos muchas recetas que podemos compartir riquisimas y saludables!. Disfrutamos mucho la Naturaleza. Nos gusta hacer caminatas, descubrir lugares inhóspitos y aprender cosas nuevas.
Al andar en bicileta hemos adaptado nuestros horarios al ritmo del sol: nos levantamos temprano y tambien nos vamos a dormir temprano. Normalmente llegamos cansados y con ropa sucia, por lo que los primeros dias, necesitamos un poco de tranquilidad, y vida de hogar :).
Importante: no tenemos teléfono!... Por lo que agradecemos mucho que las comunicaciones con posibles anfitriones sean por E-mail o a traves de esta pagina web ya que es más accesible para nosotros! Muchas Gracias!

So here is the English version...In January 2006 we started an incredible trip from Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego,Patagonia Argentina, the southernmost city in the world to Alaska, EEUU. We started driving a Volkswagen Combi wich we crossed all South America till Venezuela, where we decided to leave it. Then we cross the Darien gap in a sailing boat from Colombia to Panama and from there we travel hitchhiking, we travel by train and bus, by bike and even by plane (just once and hoping to be the last one). We reach our goal in the begining of the winter of 2012.
As we planed our way back home, we decided to make it all the way down by bicycles: The perfect way of travelling slow and nice, near people and Nature.
We are very curious persons, love cooking and share moments with people. Christian is celiac, so we keep a GLUTEN free diet: No wheat, no oats, no rye, no barley or any of their sub-products or derivatives (beers, cereal bars, bread, pasta). Even this we learnt delicious and healthy recipes we can share.
We enjoy trekking, discovering new places and learning new things. As we travell by bike, we live by the sun: wake up early and go to sleep early too. Usually, we arrive very tired and with laundry, so we apreciate some warm home time.

Interests

Nos interesa conocer la cultura de los lugares que visitamos, sus comidas, sus preferencias e intereses...ayudar a mejorar las cosas, a hacer cambios positivos que permitan crecer...formar parte de la comunidad, ya que este viaje no es solo llegar y sacar la foto, es por eso que llegar hasta Alaska tomo tanto tiempo
Nos interesa el Yoga y lo relativo a cuidados del cuerpo y nutricion...
Nos interesa la jardineria, y todo lo relativo a la construccion de hogares autosuficientes...

We are interested in the culture of the places we visit, we like to feel part of the comunity, probably that's why it took us so long to get to Alaska... This travell is not just taking the picture... It's knowing and sharing with people their feelings and experiences.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Cuando visitamos el Salar de Uyuni en Bolivia, nos quedamos sin palabras...es un lugar hermoso y unico en el mundo..., El glaciar Perito Moreno en Argentina es un lugar magico y lleno de paz...
La gratitud de la gente, la ayuda de desconocidos que a veces ni tienen para si mismos y aun asi brindan una mano, una sonrisa sigue emocionandonos y enseñándonos a dar y compartir cada día
En Alaska las Auroras Boreales... Han sido uno de los espectáculos mas emotivos e increíbles que hayamos visto... El Mundo en que vivimos es un lugar increíble!

So difficult to mention jus a few of the incredible things we had the bless of seeing... Uyuni saltfield in Bolivia... One of the most amazing place in South América... Perito Moreno Glaciar, South Patagonia, peace and magnificense... The Northenlights in Alaska... The joy of the most humble people... The simplicity and inocense of children...

Teach, Learn, Share

Natalia: "no soy experta pero me gusta cocinar!...disfruto mucho aprendiendo nuevas recetas y compartiendo las que conozco...
soy artesana por lo que soy buena con las manos, me gusta toda actividad manual y me gustaria recordar (mi abuela me ensenio de chiquita) como tejer con dos agujas..."
Me gusta la jardineria y me encantaria aprender mas sobre eso...
Tambien puedo ensenar Ingles o Espanol.

I like gardening so I would like to meet people in to this activity so we can work together and learn how to grow our own food...
