About Me

Important info:

In September 2022 we (me, Natalia and my husband Dawid) started a long trip around the world, and we can't host guests in Warsaw.
However, We are always open to meeting and visiting together some places on the way.
Currently we travel in South America.

CURRENT MISSION

Enjoy each day of our travel, learn patience, humility and appreciate the little things that make each day special.

ABOUT ME

Hi, we are Natalia and Dawid from Poland, nice to meet you.

We love meeting new people, cultures and places.
Natalia:
I have graduated in law but I have other ideas for my future. I'm not sure which one is the best. That is why I have to check all of them! :) I believe that honesty, openness on other points of views and tolerance are the most important things we can give to people. You never know what happened in people's life and why they act in the way they do.
I have a list of my dreams - I'm trying encourage myself and cross out all of them from the list.
When I am not travelling, I work with people on a daily basis, people with refugee experience. I am an activist on this topic. I learn languages, I dance rock & roll, I ride my bike all year round in all kinds of weather. I love mountain hiking and nature. I do not like noise, loud parties, although I love to dance and sometimes sit, chill and drink wine. I love traveling. I am happy wife, fall in love with other traveler. I have experience living in different countries- U.S.A, Croatia, Togo, Spain and France. Travel has taught me curiosity about other cultures, humility and openness to change and new challenges.

Dawid:
I love backpacking and discovering new places. Visited many countries in Europe, Asia, US and North Africa. Worked as digital nomad in IT Finance company. I am easygoing person with always positive attitude. I love animals and cooking.

We lived in New Zealand 4 months. We worked for a while and had a possibility to stay with local people withing woofing. It was great experience for us, because we were living in different regions of this beautiful country - always close to the nature and local people. We were helping with some house works like gardening, housekeeping in exchange of food and accommodation in beautiful locations , close to the NZ national parks. Had a possibility to work in the farm, motel and stayed with great family in Wanaka region helping out in the garden.

We love to travel-although we are both from Poland, we met on the other side of the world-in Las Vegas.

We both would like to know local people. Our best memories are of places where we met local friends, we remember them more than the places we visited.

PHILOSOPHY

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've had quite a break from couchsurfing since covid started so my references since that time are poor :P
I first discovered couchsering and showed it to my partner- Dawid.

Why I came back to the community?

All of my couchserfing experience were good (sometimes weird, but in generally- good).

I remember every host I stayed with-some of the people I later met in my country or elsewhere in the world.
I am always very grateful for the heart, bed or just a roof over my head, a piece of floor on which I can wrap myself in a sleeping bag ;) Thanks to couchserfing I discovered that it is possible to trust people just like that. That it doesn't take much to help. As someone who has hitchhiked, I have always appreciated the little things - a hot shower, a roof over my head or a peaceful sleep in someone's home, the friendliness shown.

We are looking for hosts who are willing to share a piece of their home with us- it will be great if you have time to show us a part of your city, but it is also totally ok if we can talk for a while, exchange a smile or have a meal or coffee together. I know that hosts are often busy and have total understanding for that. I believe that couchserfing is to share what is possible at the time. A place to sleep, a short conversation, a shared coffee. You always remember even the small moments that made your trip at least a little enriched by the company of a local person.

We always respect the privacy and place of the hosts, fit into the house rules and treat them with respect.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Natalia:
I believed on myself - that I can make my dreams come true if I want to :)
Even when everybody say - "Don't do it!"

Dawid:
Climbed Orla Perc - the hardest track in Polish mountains or seen the blue whale from the sky... hard to choose one.

Teach, Learn, Share

We offer the best we have:
-our company-we are rather open-minded person, but need a moment to get used to a new place and people; the moment is to feel comfortable enough to forget shyness
- we will be happy to talk about traveling experiences; Natalia about work at the foundation, which is her passion
- we can teach you a few phrases in Polish (but it won't be super easy)
- we will be happy to keep you company in a walk in a nice natural place/ in the mountains
- we can go for a walk with your dog or feed your cat
- read a fairy tale to your child
- make the dishes after dinner without any words- it will be pleasure for us to help out in the house
- if there is time and space, we can cook something- Dawid and I are getting better at making Polish pierogi, traditional food from our country; as our hosts in New Zealand loved them. If time is limited, probably we will cook easier meal (pierogi take time but with extra hand it will be much easier!)

At the same time: we have absolutely no pressure to do something beyond our comfort zone. we are not comfortable with every activity, e.g. with big, drinking parties, so we're unlikely to accompany you in such. However, we are happy to go out dancing or chat drinking a beer/wine. We believe that couchserfing should be natural, that is - we are ourself and believe that it is ok enough to get in touch with the host we're staying with.
