About Me

I am back to Couchsurfing after a while, and I'm excited of the opportunity of traveling I have.

So, about me... In Colombia I'm a social psychologist who has worked with vulnerable population and armed conflict victims. It's a beautiful work where I learn a lot, making nice conections with communities from different places of Colombia, many far away from cities. My work is my pasion and makes my life sense. It also helps me fulfill one of my great dreams: travel throughout Colombia.

In this wonderful experiences, I'v had the chance to spend time with indigenous communities in different parts of Colombia, specially at the south. They have knowledge that I consider invaluable and I feel fortunate to be able to share with them.

In 2017 I created a non for profit organization called Fundación LATIR (you can find it on instagram or fb as @fundacionlatir). It's been a wonderful experience leading this project to promote an integral, quality and for peace education in Colombia. Also, since 2022 I am part of Caring for Colombia Foundation, created in NYC to build bridges between donors and high impact social projects in Colombia.

I love to have long conversations, have a beer or a wine, find wonderful landscapes, breathe surrounded by nature, dancing, music and arts.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I expect that CS allows me to know the places that I visit from the eyes of the person who hosts me, even through a conversation.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love the music of the colombian pacific (El viejo y su timba, Herencia de Timbiquí...) and colombian traditional cumbia (Toto la Momposina, Los gaiteros de San Jacinto..). I also like rock, rap and classical music.

My favorite movies are the ones I saw when I was little: Tierra de osos and Pocahontas.

Favorite book: Las grandes mujeres by Alfonsina Storni

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

As I said in my description, I think the most amazing thing I've done is working with communities, and sharing experiences with indigenous communities in Colombia. It allows me to travel my country, not only the turistic places but those to which most people doesn't go and are amazing!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach how to dance colombian music (salsa, merengue, salsa choque, vallenato, cumbia, chirimías, música llanera... you just make your choice!)

I would really enjoy learning how to cook food of different countries.

I can share pictures of the places I've been, and expect you get excited enough to decide to visit Colombia.

What I Can Share with Hosts

To have a good conversation about life, experiences and, if you are interested, the social reality of my country (it's way more complex than our history with Pablo Escobar).

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Paraguay, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Switzerland, United States, Uruguay

Countries I’ve Lived In
