ABOUT ME
I am a scientist in molecular biology (looking at how cells organize and move things around). But I am also a Christian, an avid art observer, a reader, a vegetarian, a listener.
PHILOSOPHY
One day I would love for my home to be a place where people feel comfortable spontaneously stopping by for a tea or a bowl of soup, any day, any time, where different ideas are discussed freely or where silence is enjoyed in company. I also firmly believe that we live in the kind of world that we create daily.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Unfortunately, I live in a small studio by myself and do not think it's a good place to host CSers but I hope to do so in the future.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
So far I've mostly hosted friends who have passed through Washington, DC. And I have loved having every single one of them here not just because I love them but because when I have guests we usually end up doing a lot of the things in the city that I don't always take time for. I also really like cooking for/with others and I usually get to do that when somebody stays with me. Once when a friend visited from out-of-town we made an omelet out of an ostrich egg :) A few of my friends are Couchsurfers and I've met their guests before and hung out together. I've also interacted with some other Couchsurfing community members in Washington,DC.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Last spring I went for an amazing hike in the vicinity of Yosemite. It was breath-takingly gorgeous. Also, I've been to Prague, the most magical city in the world! And over the summer I saw an extensive Picasso exhibit at the Art Institute in Chicago that really captured the breadth of his work and gave me a wonderful feeling of saturation with art.
Teach, Learn, Share
I could tell you about: molecular biology, telomeres, fruit fly research; some Polish cooking; Orthodox Christianity, where to see a good art exhibit
I would love to learn: about meiosis and how lipids work in the cell, cooking, German (!), nature
