About Me

Former humanitatian branching out into reforestation.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I tried CS for the first time whilst InterRailing through Europe as I thought it would be the best way to meet new people and learn about the culture and countries as well as see hidden gems of their cities, I was not disappointed!

I've met some truly amazing people through CS- both being hosted and through hangouts. It's incredible and beautiful how you can go to a place that's completely new to you, all alone, but always find and make a new friend.

Interests

Rugby, football, dance, good literature, meeting new people and discussing social justice matters.

Music, Movies, and Books

Most recent book I read and enjoyed- 'The Tao of Pooh'. Enjoy any music with a good beat or that you can dance to!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One thing is hard to choose- every place has had its own incredible adventure.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a polyglot (I speak English, German, Danish, Swedish, French and Norther Sotho), if you're learning any of them I would gladly help. Moreover, I'm always interested in learning new languages or words in your language! I strongly believe in the importance of trying to speak in the language of the country I am in. Not only does it mean I am trying to show my respect, but a language can also teach so much about the culture and history of a country.

I also like to exchange stories, cooking recipes, exciting travel ideas and any other strange skills that might become useful (like making a fire on the beach with no matches... In the rain! (thank you Sergio)).

What I Can Share with Hosts

Fun conversation, I'm overly polite and always ready to help. I'm also more than happy to cook and share my culture, stories and travel tips.
I also travel with a deck of cards and have a terrible poker face.
I'm still in contact with some of my former hosts and I am partial to sending postcards. 😊
