About Me

I'm from Berlin, Germany and living in Greifswald (also Germany, as you can clearly see from the name ;) ).
After school, I've done a voluntary in Berlin at a workingplace for handicapped people- it was a great experience and I have learned a lot about respect, work and the magic of every single person, even if they can't talk to you, can't see you or whatever. After that, I began studies of modern Indology in Hamburg, where I got to know a wonderful culture and a really really interesting language (Hindi). One year later, I decided to cut those studies (I did not like the university that much and Hamburg was also not the perfect city for me).
Right now, since october 2014, I am studying psychology at the university of Greifswald. I am very interested in psychology and why everyone is working as he is. Besides, I am trying to find some time for travelling- one of the most versatile experiences, we can get to know, I think.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think that Courchsurfing is a wonderful possibility to meet different people from all over the world. The knowledge of the citizens is mostely much better than any travelling guide and it is great not to be just under tourists.

Interests

I love learning new languages. In school, I've had french, english and latin. In my first studies, I began learning Hindi and I am trying to keep it in my head (although it is very hard without practicing). One day, I would love to learn kiswahili and turkish. There are sooo many languages in the world that sound so fantastic! I really love the way you can get the spirit of a folk by learning even just some small sentences of their languages- often, it opens the way to people's heart.

Additionally, I love cooking and baking, reading (as written below), listening to music, singing, TRAVELLING (!!) , meeting new and old friends and going to music festivals.

Music, Movies, and Books

I absolutely looove movies in general. Mostly, I prefer non-blockbuster movies, that are telling stories about life, love, psychology, fun and deeper things than just action. The dark, black humour of british and scandinavian films is awesome and the magic of french movies is fantastic.

Books are also one of the big loves of my life- I think that they can improve you life in thousands of ways. Right now I'm switching (next to my psychology books) between scandinavian crime stories and the classics of literature, like Tolstoi, Dostojewski, Schiller, E.T.A. Hoffmann,.... .

Music is, in my opinion, completely addictet to one's actual mood. I don't like metal and hard rock that much, but I am very open to find even there some surprises. What I could here all the time is Depeche Mode, Emiliana Torrini, The Bloodhoundgang, The XX, Kollektiv Turmstraße, Igor Stravinski, to all kinds of swing- it's very various.
