About Me

ABOUT ME

My name is Natalie and I'm from Los Angeles, CA. I currently live in Cologne, Germany :)

I graduated with a BS in Nursing in 2016, worked as a nurse for two months and then decided my spirit was too restless to stay in one place and work for the time being.

Eventually, I returned to California after a 17 month adventure traveling and working odd jobs in New Zealand and SE Asia. But soon left again! Along the way, I made incredible lifelong friends, went through several spiritual awakenings, and even fell in love.

Free spirited & spontaneous. Easy to get along with. Open to new experiences :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I made friends at a CS meeting in Lisbon, Portugal in 2014. We ended up touring some of Lisbon together and it prompted me to come back to CS.

Since then, I have couchsurfed with people that I've met through travels, though not through Couchsurfing.com. I have also hosted a couple times, but since I move quite often, it's uncommon (but very welcome if I am able to!).

Interests

For the most part, more of a trekking/nature gal but will never turn down a beer with a couple of friends.

Love live music. Also enjoy going out if there's good techno

I was a vegetarian for 20 years and though I'm not a vegetarian anymore, I find that I still prefer vegetarian food. When I'm in California, I am mostly vegan. Also, cows are my favorite animal...mooo!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Trekked through Laosian jungle, harvested my own dinner and cooked it with locals at a Hmong village. The village leader then blessed us in a traditional Laosian blessing ceremony.

Lived on an island in Halong Bay for almost 5 months, working as a tour guide

Teach, Learn, Share

I've spent the last year learning german intensively in Germany and could offer a tandem language exchange! In English as well, of course :) My mandarin is a bit rusty haha.

We could talk about our travels, different places we've lived, FOOD. I bake vegan cakes for a cafe in Cologne so that could also be pretty fun to share!
