About Me
Hey All!
My name is Natalie, I am a creative who runs cocktail bar programs in San Francisco!
I am deeply involved with the bar community out here and love to visit thriving bar communities in other cities.
Most of my travel in the past few years has been with spirits brands - heading out to their distilleries around the country and world.
When I'm not behind the bar or working on a creative beverage project, I am painting portraits using wine as my medium, lying in sunshine with some bubbles, or hanging out with my cats.
I've lived here in the city since 2010 and while I've taken extended stays elsewhere in the world, I call San Francisco home.
I have a deep appreciation for life and finding joy in mundane things.
I'm not a tourist in the conventional sense, I dont need to wait in line for big attractions. Not my thing.
I love to get a glimpse of the everyday life of a city and will spend hours walking and mapping a place.
I love independent films, rowdy shows, and any sort of creative nightlife.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I joined Couchsurfing when I moved to France a while back so I could travel and meet locals from the cities that interested me. My goals with Couchsurfing over the past 10+yrs or so have been to focus on sharing the lesser known parts of my city and diving into the culture exchange with my surfers.
It's changing my life in more ways than I can count. I'm grateful to be in the hands of good people around the world and to be the same for them.
For integrity's sake, please include the word "parallax" somewhere in your request or message so I know you're not trying to use a host as a free hostel.
Interests
My art here --> thirstyart.com
I don't identify as religious but I studied a good deal of spirituality and religion in my university and love conversation of different faiths.
Free time in the daytime here usually means the park, a patio bar, or the ocean to me.
Free time at nighttime in San Francisco usually revolves around one of the millions of cool bars we have or going to a live show.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love literature, usually with a female/queer/bipoc voice.
One of my favorite things to do with my partner when we're in a slump is to walk to City Lights bookstore and pick out a book for each other to settle into.
Movies
I love older films. Anything with Cary Grant, Audrey Hepburn.
Most of Jean-Luc Godard's films, Quentin Tarantino, Sofia Coppola
Contemporary independent films, cult classics.
Music
really scattered. really love most things.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
skinny dipping in the warm waters of Ibiza at 4am with loved ones, clear skies with bright stars, watching a lightning storm on the horizon.
Teach, Learn, Share
I've really enjoyed just sitting on my bed for hours just listening to a new surfer talk and learn about them--as well as going out into town and teaching them the history of different districts and movements.
Everything is relative and I'm rarely opposed to learn or do new things.
I can teach you more than you probably want to know about different spirit categories and production.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm a great cook and make a great drink!
I don't eat meat, so I'm not well versed in cooking land animals.
However, I can shuck an oyster and poach scallops to perfection!
I've done extensive event bartending and large scale production, so I have hands on deck if a host is in the event world at all. Can also just make a large-format Martini to have on hand at your home
