About Me

ABOUT ME

I love being outside in nature and learning crafts skills and work that connect me more deeply to the land. I love to laugh and dance and sing. I'm excited in learning from people and different cultures and am open to different ways of seeing.

Interests

In Santa Cruz I have spent much of the last two years participating In land defense campaigns, many led by the indigenous people of the area. I am in awe of survival despite everything, and the resilience an beauty of life. I am also excited by people's movements recently and this rising sense of empowerment among young folks toward envisioning another way. I am also constantly in awe of the wisdom that each person holds inside. Also, the moon.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Yesterday I was sheepherding in the mountains with this fierce lady and a storm rolled in. As the sun was setting behind the ridge of pic d aneto, I looked back and saw this gloriousdouble rainbow. That was very special and Brighton.

Another very special moment that I hold dear and remember is being in black mesa Arizona in the fall of 2010, where the dine/navaho people are resisting relocation from their traditional lands by the US government. I remember sitting by the fire and watching as people blessed the sheep, singing softly and brush it's body with a branch of a juniper tree. The sheep did not fight as they took her life. She was silent and calm. It was very beautiful to experience such respect and reverence, and it is one of many moments and lessons of that place that has change my life.

Another was several weeks ago. It was visiting the place where my grandmother used to spend her summers in hollnd. My grandma, my mom an I all went there together. I have heard so many stories of that place, the way the rain sounded on the canvas tent, my grandma Fallon in love with my grandp there. When we were there it started raining and we sat together under this big umbrella with hot soup and wine, dying laughing and my grandma told us stories.
