ABOUT ME
Jazz and I are both outgoing and adventurous. We love to talk, but I don't think we are over chatty. Before I started travelling, I was all for the family as I was a very conscientious mother. Jazz worked for a large accounting firm for years and once he had enough, he packed his bags and went backpacking.
I have been back in the UK for almost 2.5 years now after spending 3.5 years backpacking with Jazz in Asia, Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands, where we stayed with several couchsurfing hosts. We have enjoyed wonderful experiences with the local people of all the countries we have visited and we even managed to learn to speak enough Indonesian to communicate with remote villagers. It was a wonderful time where we both lived our dreams!
I am now back at work hoping to save enough to get back out on the travelling trail again! After a visit with family in the USA, Jazz joined me in 2010 here in the UK and we got married at the end of that year.
PHILOSOPHY
Live for today and try not to worry about tomorrow. Put a smile on people's faces. To be a good samaritan.
Interests
For me its travelling, children and being a mother, beach life, Indian food, cooking, wildlife, indigenous culture, antique relics and old buildings and structures.
Jazz is pretty much the same except for being a mother :). He loves travelling and meeting new people and making new friends. Experiencing cultural differences is very exciting for him as well. Despite his accounting background, Jazz also considers himself a bit of an historian as he loves to read and learn everything there is to know about the history of a country or monument. In this way, he makes the perfect tour guide!
We are also both divers and avid walkers/hikers.

Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy music from every genre except country and western. I enjoy dancing to techno and anything with a good base.
I read daily and enjoy books of suspense and of an historical nature.
I guess the movies I enjoy most are musicals and romance.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
We both changed our whole way of life when we started to travel and have changed it again now that we are back in the working world.
Every country has its wow factor. However, hiking up to the Annapurna Base Camp in Nepal and catching your first sight of those amazing mountains was extra special. I would also say hanging out with the long-neck tribe in Myanmar was an amazing experience. How they can stretch their necks so much is a mystery to me. Island hoping in Indonesia and soaking ourselves into the cultural fabric of their country was special as well.
Finally, living out of a van while travelling around Australia and New Zealand was an umforgettable experience. Cooking by camp sites, sleeping in the van and taking cold showers was challenging but experiencing the vastness of the outback and having that first cute little whallaby hopping up to your camp site looking for some breakfast is something we will always cherish!
