About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To explore

ABOUT ME

In the midst of a five month journey in Latin America after finishing an incredible two years as a teacher and before starting another adventure as a management consultant.

I am both Adventure Natalie who loves to travel, to take risks, to learn, to reach out and doesn´t want to be tied down and Settler Natalie who likes to cook, garden and make ceramics and have children (not too soon). At the moment Adventure Natalie is winning but mostly the two are at peace.

PHILOSOPHY

Still working that one out. My goal is for my life is for it to be rich with diverse experiences and to somehow contribute to making the world a better place.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Have hosted. Have surfed. Would like to do more of both.

Couchsurfing is about sharing experiences with local people... my favorite part about travelling.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I joined Couchsurfing in 2008 before a solo trip to India and had some incredible experiences there. After that I have hosted people in Melbourne a couple of times.

Interests

Always interested in ceramics, reading, cooking, learning new things, the outdoors.

Sometimes interested in diving, trekking, and partying.

Music, Movies, and Books

Not wanting to be categorised I am often reticent to answer this question. I have diverse tastes including:

Any movie that moves me or makes me think. I am a big fan of arthouse and foriegn films but quite partial to a rom com on the aeroplane. I love documentaties.

Any music that makes me want to dance. I am very easily emotionally affected by music so dont listen to it to study or relax often. I have a soft spot for the pop my students listen to, for regaton and for the arabic language world music and flamenco I grew up on.

Books that take me to another place. I love ´literature´both old and new especially post colonial literature. I´m not much into crime, detective stories or chic lit.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I see increadible things every day. To live a life enriched with learning, leisure and travel is an increadible privilege.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a teacher of secondary humanities so I can make reasonable dinner party conversation. I enjoy cooking and would love to cook with surfers or hosts. I´m always happy to help practice English particularly if you can teach me a few words of your language in exchange.

When Im in Melbourne I´d love to show you around and drop in with you to my pottery school.

Countries I’ve Visited
