Über mich

I AM NOT A LOCAL BERLINER.

I love making new friends all over the world - you can say I am a people-person :)

I pretty much grew up on the East Coast of the US - but my home is where my parents are, and since they moved to Berlin, that is where I want to be.

I graduated University with Honors in Hospitality - Hotel and Restaurant Management. I currently am studying my German so that I could one day permanently live in Germany, and am part owner of a Sauna here in Berlin! Very fun relaxing and fulfilling.

PHILOSOPHY

I am who I am, whoever that is.

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am currently hosting Bingo Night at Solf Sauna as an event. In hosting, I am introducing people to this wonderful hidden gem in Berlin where they can relax and get away from the stresses and monotony of daily activity. I am also looking to meet interesting new people in Berlin and practice my German language!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

A little bit, I have met some great people through messages and events!

Interessen

Lately I have been reading a lot, going through 2 or 3 books per week.

I love to travel and see new places.. I love to sight-see and go to museums.

I HAVE A PASSION FOR AMAZING FOOD. Unfortunately for whoever my future husband may be, the top of my food list includes caviar and foie gras, but I can eat just about anything that is delicious!

TV Shows - I watch them in marathons. Sit down and watch 5 seasons in 5 days, if not less.

Sports - tennis, a little golf, skiing. I will admit that I hate team sports (I have tried field hockey, lacrosse, soccer, softball, volleyball...they are not my thing)

Music - put on something rebellious and I am in, but mostly anything I can sing to.

Languages - I speak Russian, English, a little Spanish and German. Since I am currently living in Berlin, I am seeking a gorgeous German boyfriend who basically speaks no English so that I can finally learn to say something meaningful. Just kidding!! I would love to make friends!

Musik, Filme und Bücher

I read way too much, so who knows?

"The Painted Bird" is one I cringe about every time I think of it - to me that is the most memorable a book will get.

7 Habits of Highly Effective People - a must-read for anyone who wants to re-evaluate or center themselves.

Escape from Camp 14 - a true story: North Korea’s political prison camps have existed twice as long as Stalin’s Soviet gulags and twelve times as long as the Nazi concentration camps. No one born and raised in these camps is known to have escaped. No one, that is, except Shin Dong-hyuk.

Graceling: the story of the vulnerable-yet-strong Katsa, a smart, beautiful teenager who lives in a world where selected people are given a Grace, a special talent that can be anything from dancing to swimming. Katsa’s is killing. As the king’s niece, she is forced to use her extreme skills as his thug.

The Giver - a read I very much recommend, along with Fahrenheit 451. I was really thinking and interacting with the book, thinking about how our societies are and what affects them.

PS I Love You, Pygmalion, The Selection Series, Harry Potter, Laura Landon Books, and many many more.

I will typically finish a book even if I do not enjoy it, some sort of little nagging voice that tells me it just must know how the story ends (even though everything about the book makes me want to put it down).

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

Most of these would probably come from books because I read so much, but in real life...probably swimming with wild dolphins was absolutely amazing and skiing in Val d'Isere, where the snow is soft and powdery and the views are to die for!

Lehren, lernen, teilen

I am in hospitality - people are my business.

Länder, die ich besucht habe
