Overview
About Me
We shall not cease from exploration
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time.
- T.S. Elliot
Coming from a provincial town in the Netherlands, I have been living in Amsterdam for a few years. Although I love my hometown, I have a continuous restlessness of staying somewhere for too long. Travelling gives me my freedom to explore new worlds, new people and ways of living and also assists me in regaining my appreciation of home.
My father is Dutch and my mother Indonesian and has given me a wondeful look into living with different cultures. I think it also formed me in being very open to new people and new experiences.
Currently I am finishing my graduate program and writing my thesis on the changing perception in contemporary art and the introduction of drones in this field.
My passion for art lies mostly int he modern and contemporary Italian art and I am often in Turin, Venice, Rome or Naples to visit exhibitions and other art initiatives. After graduation I will start looking for an internship somewhere in Italy or the USA.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
For now I feel I need to learn more from life to learn about myself and thus I will use this year for travelling for longer periods and really immerse myself in local life. I would love to get to know more people from different directions.
From halfway October on. I will be able to receive guests as well and I think it will be great to share Dutch experiences with them, guiding them through the city of art, culture, parks and great cafes and clubs that Amsterdam has to offer. Please have at least read my profile and be interested in meeting the host behind the couch..

My all-time favorite artists are the Arctic Monkeys, Sia, David Bowie, RHCP, Foo Fighters, Beyonce, Drake, Nicolas Jaar, Dolly Parton, Nina Simone.
Film-and-series freak for life, too many good ones to mention but an indication:

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
After an internship in Rome for 3 months, I danced my last night away and went with friends to the Gianniculo to see the sun rise in Rome and drink some Limoncello. Pure bliss
Teach, Learn, Share
I have taught Dutch and English to some people. Love to practice my Spanish or Italian with a native speaker.
Major things I would still want to learn besides languages would probably be horseback riding, grow flowers, learn to do pottery haha, read as many classic novels and poetry as possible and probably dive with manta rays and dolphins.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can make crazy Indonesian rice buffets.
